Let’s Get Real, General Powell….It IS about Race
THE TEA PARTY NEWS NETWORK ^ | October 26, 2012 | Jennifer Burke

Now, Powell wants us to believe that despite endorsing Obama twice, he is still a “moderate Republican”. Given the fact that even moderate Democrats have bailed on Obama; a former highly touted Obama cheerleader, former Rep. Artur Davis, has abandoned him; the mainstream media, once highly protective of their beloved one, have begun to turn on him; and the fact that the black community has fared even worse than others in this atrocious Obama economy, one would think that any rational person would realize that Obama must go. I will say right now exactly what I said in 2008...

Yes, Powell gave away the horse and cart with his latest statement. Actually, I am a bit shocked that he still holds this view. I always thought of him as a great military man with good judgement but of course have since reconsidered.

This man had become just another black man voting for another black man without any conviction except race. This is what happens when you elect a black and he divides the country not only by race but also by monetary class. We have the most divided country today than we have ever had by far! I would think that the division by Obama will end affirmative action forever (thank goodness). That has been a negative against Blacks, Latinos, and Asians for many years. Way past time to give that up and let the best advance. It just might be a boon to the country!

You can NOT remove race from the equation until you REMOVE race from the equation!

This is the legacy of President Obama!

All I can say is we should be thanking our lucky stars that he never got the Republican nomination for President. We were all snowed by this guy. He talked a good game but he is obviously a phony fraud like his choice.

Powell's judgment is flawed and is not to be trusted. Many, including me, have lost respect for him. He has capped a very distinguished career with this huge mistake. In the end, it is racial. Powell just can't get past it.

If two waspy white guys were currently running for president, Powell would not ask for air time to announce his choice! And, he would not be asked to voice his opinion. The whole thing is about race and the liberal press propping him up as the latest useful idiot to serve their purposes.

Generally agreed, but it will take more than the first black president being the worst, most racially divisive president in modern history to ‘end’ affirmative action. Colin Powell could have made a difference. If he had been the Republican presidential candidate in ‘96 and won, this whole thing about race and the presidency would have been resolved with far less damage. But Powell turned down the best chance to do good in his life and now he is hobnobbing with racists, partisan hacks and religious bigots. What a disappointment Powell has turned out to be.

He was never anything special. He was just an affirmative action statistic.

No, I think you are wrong. It takes a black President to display the problems with affirmative action (and he has done a great job of that). Any other President could not have made things so obvious without raising doubts.

Now you may be right that it will take a different President (race) to follow through but it will be at his peril. It is time though to end the discrimination by Government if you really want equal opportunity for all. It will take someone with solid convictions though and the guts to follow through. I doubt that Romney is capable of that though so it will probably be delayed again.

Yes, Powell is a rather sad disappointment!
