Why Christians Should Vote for Romney

Please watch this video. It may be the best campaign video this year. It is short, sweet, and hard-hitting (only 7 minutes long). Every Christian should see this. (Suffer through the partial birth abortion segment.):

By the way, studies show that a large percentage of conservative Christians fail to vote. What a tragedy. If we all voted, we would win consistently and America would recover from its ills.

Jesus taught us to “render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s.” In a democratic republic, we the people are Caesar. We must infer that this command requires us to contribute to the republic by, at the very least, exercising our right to vote. Unlike non-Christians, the right to vote is really the obligation to vote.

There are numerous Bible passages that confirm the importance of God, Government, and the Christian’s obligation to engage the culture. These include:

Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s. (Matthew 22:21)

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.( 2 Cor 10:5)

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. (Psalm 24:1)

We must obey God rather than man. (Acts 5:29) You are the salt of the earth…the light of the world. (Matthew 5:13-16)

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget about God.(Psalm 9:17)

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. (Psalm 33:12)

On account of me, you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. (Mark 13:9)

The good influence of godly citizens causes a city to prosper. (Proverbs 11:11)

I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right. (Isaiah 45:19)

We are not trying to please men, but God, who tests our hearts. (1 Thessalonians 2:4)

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil. (Isaiah 5:20-21)

Thou shalt not kill. (Exodus 20:13-15)

Do not give the devil a foothold. (Ephesians 4:27)

A wise man attacks the city of the mighty and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust. (Proverbs 21:22)

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness. (Matthew 5:10-12)

Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them, as leaders, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens. (Exodus 18:21)

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. (Proverbs 29:2)

When rulers are wicked, their people are too. (Proverbs 29:16)

For the wicked shall not rule the godly, lest the godly be forced to do wrong.(Psalm 125:3)

Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. (Psalm 127:1)

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. (Proverbs 13:8-9)

To the Jews I became like a Jew…. (1 Corinthians 9:20-24)

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18)

Fill the earth and subdue it. (Genesis 1:26-28)

Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)

mormonism is not Christianity, and to justify it as such is nonsense.
This is not a Christian voting for another Christian, it is Christians trying to justify their votes based on other criteria.
If that is acceptable, then vote for Romney otherwise don’t vote, there is NO justification for voting for obama.

an interesting take by David Kupelian over at WND. Here is the nut of it

“These courageous and devout Christian statesmen consciously, deliberately, purposefully chose to accommodate slavery – in fact, to constitutionally protect it for the next two decades – in the newly independent United States of America.

Slavery is evil. Yet, to obtain the needed state ratifications, our nation’s founders chose to allow and preserve this evil (temporarily) in the Constitution, which provided for the continued “importation” of slaves until 1808 and prohibited citizens from helping escaped slaves, requiring they be returned to their owners.

The founders didn’t have to do this. They could have proclaimed with righteous indignation, “Slavery is evil, and we refuse to enshrine it in our new Constitution. It doesn’t matter if the republic dissolves, God will not hold us blameless if we elect to support slavery.” That, of course, would have been the end of the convention as the Southern states would have bolted immediately, and the young nation’s slide into chaos would have continued unabated.

The founders chose the lesser of two evils – because it led to the greater good. For them, the greater evil, worse than allowing slavery – which they realized would come to an end before too many decades – would have been to allow the disintegration of the United States of America to continue, to permit history’s greatest birth of liberty to be smothered in the cradle.

Therefore, to all those who today proclaim so high-mindedly that they cannot dishonor God by choosing “the lesser of two evils,” I would say this:

Our wise forefathers, seeing our nation disintegrate before their eyes, did what they did in Philadelphia because it was the only way forward – otherwise they would lose their country. Today, our nation is likewise disintegrating. Whether you like Mitt Romney or not is irrelevant, just as the founders’ attitude toward slavery didn’t deter them from doing what they had to do to save the nation. Electing Romney is simply the only possible way to stop Obama from continuing on as president. Everything else is folly.”

(Ya know, doncha, that the headline doesn't really match the content of the article?)

For example...constant references to "God"...like: There are numerous Bible passages that confirm the importance of God, Government, and the Christian’s obligation to engage the culture.

But (a) Mormonism is polytheistic...they believe even their temple-recommended members -- like Mitt -- ARE "gods-in-embryo";
and (b) Mormonism rejects the God of the Bible...claiming that THE God isn't God from eternity past

1. Is God the Only Being who can claim an eternal past?
In Mormonism, man is as eternal as the Mormon god: "Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be." (D&C 93:29)

That doesn't match up vs. the Bible: "...ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." (Isaiah 43:10) * "Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God." (Isaiah 44:6) * "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God." (Psalm 90:2)

2. Did the God of this earth always exist as THE ONLY TRUE GOD per Mormonism?

NO: “I will go back to the beginning, before the world was, to show what kind of a being God is. What sort of a being was God in the beginning? Open your ears and hear, all ye ends of the earth; for I am going to prove it to you by the Bible, and to tell you the designs of God in relation to the human race, and why he interferes with the affairs of man. God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret." (Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 1938 Also in Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 3, 1844; for those who deem this just an "opinion" stated long ago, the official Lds church has republished this quote: For example, in 1992, the Lds church published Follow Me: Relief Society Personal Study Guide 4, and cited a similar quote on p. 22) "...It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 345-46)."

From the article: Every Christian should see this. (Suffer through the partial birth abortion segment.)...

Ya know, if we could take a microphone up & interview various "demographics" of the spirits of pre-borns slaughtered by way of abortion...you'd have...
...The spirits who died by needle injections to the base of the skull (partial-birth abortions supported by Obama)
...as well as spirits dismembered limb by limb by abortionists who told their "clients" they needed it for reasons of "health" (abortion-on-demand for reasons of health -- not life -- supported by BOTH Romney and Obama!)

[Not sure how it is the supposed "Christian" community is ranking pre-borns according to what gestational period and method of killing when they supposedly believe that Jesus was an embryo of ALL gestational ages...and that God/Jesus/the Holy Spirit created ALL from conception onwards]

Btw...Romney "clarified" his support of the abortion industry determining the "health" of moms to be aborted on the Aug. 27 interview he did with CBS News...besides, it's the exact same position of the Mormon church!

A vote for anyone but Romney is a vote for Obama.

Partial birth aboortion.

Same sex marriage which will revoke the tax exempt status of ANY church not willing to perform gay marriage ceremonies.

Forcing churches to pay for aboortion and birth control.

Supporting homosexuality globally using Us tax dollars.

You shall know them by their deeds.

You support all of the above?

Or are you ab Obama plant showing up here to confuse?

Obama referee to the Koran as a “holy book” and Mohammed as a “prophet.”
The choice is Mormon or Muslim.

I’ll take the Mormon. Sorry!

Throw away your vote = voting FOR Obama.

If you’re a Rat operative, nice try. But wrong place to pull this.

A vote for anyone but Romney is a vote for Obama.

You must be math challenged.

Let's say you live in...
...D.C. (Obama got 92% of 2008 vote)
...Hawaii (Obama got 71% of 2008 vote)
...Vermont (Obama got 67% of 2008 vote)
...Rhode Island (Obama got 63% of 2008 vote)
...or any of these states -- in which Obama got between 60-62% of the vote: Delaware, NY, Illinois, Maryland, MA, CA, and CT...

Guess what? Romney is NOT going to win ANY of those states' electoral votes!!!

Doesn't matter if you vote third party in those states -- or have the third party candidates give ALL their votes to Romney...Guess what, oh math-challenged one...Romney still won't win...and you "formula" of "a vote for anyone but Romney = an Obama vote" doesn't calculate in those blue states (& others) were you to vote third party...

Obama easily got over 50% of the

If you live in a solidly blue state, and you vote for Romney, you are throwing away your vote by voting for a sure electoral loser in that given state!

True, I live in Illinois, where Chicago will overwhelmingly vote for their "Favorite son" and it almost a guarantee that Obama will win his "home state". That being said, the alternatives on the Illinois ballot besides Romney are: A) pro-abortion, pro-open borders, pro-gay marriage Gary Johnson, who is running as a Libertarian because conservative GOP primary voters rejected him, and B)far-left environmental Marxist Green Party nominee Jill Stein

Voting third party won't change anything, but an Illinois conservative voting third party doesn't make sense. Both of the choices available in this state are WORSE than Romney.

I looked at Virgil Goode's Web site.

It is true that SOME states are NOT accommodating to "write-in" ballots re: specific candidates.

Illinois is NOT one of those unaccommodating states. If you live in either Illinois or Maryland, per Virgil Goode's Web site, the voter oversight recorders will readily tally those write-in votes!

Obama referee to the Koran as a “holy book” and Mohammed as a “prophet.”

The article makes it's point, but you don't help it with your post.

Mitt Romney is a holy man in his religion, his actual Holy Book is the Book of Mormon, and he asked for permission from his actual Holy Prophet, before running for president.

Mitt currently has a Holy Prophet who speaks to God and delivers messages and new scripture to his flock. In 1978, when Mormonism told the Priest, Mitt Romney, that blacks were equal, it wasn't a man made decision, or a vote from the church leadership, it was God changing his mind and speaking to the living Mormon "Prophet".

I couldn't care less that Romney's a Mormon...I'm voting for him based on the way politics works in the real world.

It's a two-party system, and either the (R) or the (D) will be president. Period. Overall, I prefer the politics of Republicans over that of Democrats, so I vote a straight Republican ticket every time.

Watched the video. Yes, the whole thing. Then I went back to my Bible, and 2 John 1:9-11 was still there. If I can’t let a Mormon into my house, or even give him a common greeting, how can I ever voluntarily grant him authority over my life on such a grand scale as the US presidency?

Could bad things happen if Obama remains president? Yes, and they already have. I don’t want those bad things to happen. But if I vote for Romney, I am giving authority to a teacher of antichrist doctrine, to a man whose business it is to draw souls to perdition.

Accepting the mark of the Beast will be only a small step from that. Both decisions are based on perceived necessity, coupled with a complete lapse of faith in God :

1) Without antichrist teacher Romney to protect us, God will just run and hide somewhere and we will go hard communist. Or Islamist. Or both. Surely the right to survive and the love of country would justify disobeying God just this once. Right?

2) Without the mark of the Beast, we will not be able to earn money or buy food. Surely God will forgive us for acting to protect our own lives during that debacle as well, even if we must brazenly disobey specific warnings He gave us to protect us from the Evil One. Right? Same logic as the Romney logic, so why not go that next step?

Do you see what we’re losing here? There’s more at stake than a country. Christians do have an obligation to “render unto Caesar” what belongs to Caesar. But they must in that same moment render unto God what is God’s. God has spoken on false teachers and those who hold forth an antichrist perversion of the doctrine of Christ. They are to get no support whatsoever from Christians. None. That’s what we owe God. Caesar gets his tax money. God gets our souls. That’s the deal.

It is better to obey God and be thought a fool, than to disobey God and remove all doubt.

Peace,

SR

meh. As a Christian, I found your recommended vid to be largely propaganda. Romney’s social positions are extremely liberal, and always have been - current campaign ‘Road to Damascus’ conversions notwithstanding... A year ago, we all knew better. It is truly shocking how easily some folks develop a convenient amnesia.
