Allen West was on with Mark Levin last night in what I think was one of his better interviews. Not only did Levin put West on the spot and really press him on his future, but West weighed in on this debate over the fiscal cliff saying that the House should be passing good policy and not negotiating with a Marxist, Socialist, rigid ideologue like Obama. He says that instead of Obama telling people how hes going to give them $2,000 by keeping their taxes low, West says Obama should be telling them how hes decimated the median family income by $4,000 through printing money and inflation.
On his future, West said hes gotten good offers and he has no plans to stop fighting for this country. Levin called him a national treasure and implored him to remain in public service.
All in all an excellent interview. Listen below:

Allen West is a breath of fresh air. It is people like him that give me a glimmer of hope for our Country.
Allen West is far too gentle. He never mentioned drug-addled, evil, racist, or even antisemitic.
Exactly right to not negotiate - The house should pass a bill they like, and pitch it ver the fence to the Dems in the senate.
Only the house can originate the bill - the house has the constitutional power, and should not relinquish it.

Just think if Mr West was speaker of the house!
2% of wage earners pay 40% of the income taxes
47% of wage earners pay no income taxes
51% of wage earners (the middle class) pay 60% of the income taxes
The 2% are allowed certain “loopholes” in income taxes because the congress has codified it according to the political pressure applied by the 2% (complicity).
If congress removes the “loopholes”, the 2% will adjust their income to compensate. Where they cannot compensate, they will pass those increases on to the 98%; but, only the middle class will be assessed the increases because they pay 60% of income taxes.
It’s a shell game with the middle class getting “the shaft”. And, yes, it is THAT simple.
Congress will not eliminate the loopholes, they will be redirected and redefined so that the 2% can pass on any increases.
Obama has nothing to lose by “going over the cliff” (a term which I have come to loathe). He will just blame republicans.
West phrased it like a question when saying are the Depts of Energy and Education needed but I'd say he fully realizes they are not needed.
He says he loves this country and he's proven it by serving it and risking his life for it as well as serving in the House of Representatives. It's suspect that obama loves this country from his actions not only over the last four years but all of his adult life.
Lt. Col. West will keep representing the conservative cause and this country, of that I'm sure. We need many more patriots like him representing this country.
I have liked Allen West from the first time I heard him speak. He is A true Patriot. He will be at the forefront of our conservative re-emergence. He & others like him will lead us to our previous greatness.
Now the “others” need to emerge from our national lethargy.
I know that we here on FR will be included in the “others”.
I had to laugh when he said re-electing Obama was the world’s biggest Pavlovian experiment! He nailed it.
I’m paraphrasing, but he basically said; “We just conducted the world’s biggest Pavlovian experiment. By re-electing Obama we rewarded bad behavior. When you reward bad behavior you’re just going to get more of it.”
I really like this guy West, he doesn’t fool around with niceties and phony platitudes. He just cuts to the chase. :)
He sure does and it's refreshing. He says what he believes and he's always been right, in my view.
He should be Speaker of the House instead of the wimp we have.
He is also 100% right about Obama. We should not be making deals with him. If the House had balls it would be Obama coming to beg.
“Exactly right to not negotiate - The house should pass a bill they like, and pitch it over the fence to the Dems in the senate.”
I agree. No negotiation. Assert their authority and power of the purse, pass a pro-growth bill, adjourn for the holidays. Let the dems sweat.
There are six tax rates, ranging from 10% to 35%, have been in place since 2003, the Bush tax rates:
10%,
15%,
25%,
28%,
33%, and
35%.
Tax rates will revert automatically to the following pre-2003 levels unless new legislation is passed:
15%,
28%,
31%,
36%, and
39.6%
Extending the Bush tax rates is not the way to go, its just the way the Democrats have framed the argument. Nor is the way to go allowing the rates to revert.
Republicans should pass brand new rates:
8%,
12%,
20%,
25%, and
35%
Only the highest rate would remain the same as the current level. All other rates would be reduced below their current levels.
Lets see how eager Obama and the Democrats really are to keep talking about helping the middle class during a slow economic recovery by extending the Bush tax cuts for 98% while demanding that the rich pay their fair share. They’ll be twisting themselves in knots with their phony talking points.
Isn’t it true that the Speaker does not have to be a member of the House?
John Boehner AKA "The No Nutz Putz"
What about spending? The House controls appropriations. The House should pass a budget, dramatically reducing spending, and be done with it. Stop these continuing resolutions. The Senate can either approve the budget or the government shuts down.
The problem is the Republicans in Congress don’t have the stones to stand up and let the government shut down. The first week the social security checks don’t go out, the Senate will pass the budget and the President will sign it.
The Republicans are going to be blamed for everything anyway. They might as well do something worth getting blamed for and that would actually help the nation.
What you say makes perfect sense, which is why it will not happen.
