ALLEN WEST UNDER ATTACK! YOUR HELP NEEDED NOW!Congressman Allen West (R-Florida) is a freshman pro-troop conservative Member of Congress. As an African-American former military officer with service in Iraq, he has been under constant attack by the left. We are outraged that one of his political opponents – a little rich kid with inherited wealth and no achievements to his name – had the audacity to call Colonel West “a coward.” They are going all out to defeat West by redistricting him out of office, and the pro-troop community must rise up to help this patriotic American stay in...

It's his birthday party, and he'll sing if he wants to.

I had such an amazing time at CPAC. I met amazing people, heard great conservative speakers, and spent a great deal of time with our blog team which was a lot of fun in and of itself! I wanted to take some time to list my favorite speakers that I heard at the conference. I decided to leave out all of the GOP candidates as I didn't get to see two of them so I don't want to give a biased answer or make anyone think I'm endorsing someone. If you wanted to go to CPAC or you missed any...

Democratic congressional candidate Patrick Murphy announced today that he will follow Allen West to the newly proposed District 18 to continue his campaign against him. The move comes after publically calling West a coward for leaving the district to run in a more favorable one. It seems that Murphy will be doing exactly that, with the blessing of popular Democratic leaders. He has yet to apologize to West for his remark.

This February, let's acknowledge several forgotten heroes from black history. We ought to laud those who actually strove for what the laundered historical ledger pronounces as the all-encompassing intent of the civil rights movement: laws affording equal protection regardless of race. Sadly, these stalwarts in the struggle against segregation have been consigned to historical obscurity by the politically correct acclaim for their resentment-fomenting rivals. Popular culture extols Marxists like W.E.B. Du Bois, despite his repeated praise for Stalin and Mao, even while he despised everything America represents. Dubois's heritage is best perpetuated by Jeremiah Wright, Jessie Jackson, and Al Sharpton...

People like Mr. [Allen] West, and Governor Brewer and so on, particularly Mr. West, is not only not representative of the African-American community or of the Republican Party, let alone of the American public. So what he says really is of little or no consequence, but its unfortunate, Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) said about Rep. Allen West telling liberal leaders to get the hell out of the country.

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is suspicious about the newly released January unemployment numbers. In response to news that the overall unemployment rate had dropped to 8.3 percent and the unemployment rate in the black community declined from 15.8 percent to 13.6 percent, West floated the possibility that the numbers might have been cooked. "Can someone tell me how employment in the black community has improved at a rate three times the national average in just a few months?? With numbers like today, urban communities should be well on their way to economic recovery then! There is something suspicious about the...

As a longtime fan and admirer of Rush Limbaugh, I was disappointed to hear his comments regarding the work of the Congressional Redistricting Subcommittee on which I am honored to serve. His suggestions that we rigged the maps to force Allen West out of Congress are simply ludicrous. I was thereit didnt happenI know. It is especially surprising to see Mr. Limbaugh join with the chorus of left wing groups that are attacking our work. I can only presume that Mr. Limbaughs lack of knowledge of our process, laws and constitution would lead him to make such statements and would...

On the Sean Hannity radio show today, Rep. Allen West said that the days of conservatives being punching bags-thats over. As I shared with you last night and I will continue to say, the days of conservatives being punching bags-thats over, Rep. West (R-) said. And we have to stand up-we have to stand up on principle. We have to identify this message and this ideology which is counter to the principles and values of this Constitutional republic. Hannity and West were discussing the recent comments made by the congressman in which he told Democratic leaders to take their message...

Today, Patrick Murphy, the underdog in the Democratic primary for Congressional District 22, called incumbent U.S. Rep. Allen West -- a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, and a combat veteran, mind you -- "a coward." Responding to Wests decision to run in a newly drawn district further north, Murphy posted the following statement on his website: Allen West went from talking tough this weekend and telling progressives to "get the hell out of this country" to abandoning the people who elected him. There is no other way to interpret this: Allen West is a coward. The truth is...

The Shark Tank has learned that Congressman Tom Rooney has announced that he is running for re-election to Congress in one of Floridas two newly created congressional districts, and that Congressman Allen West will run for re-election in Congressman Rooneys 16th Congressional District. The speculation will now begin as to which Republican will run in Allen Wests 22nd Congressional District. It is possible that either George LeMieux or Adam Hanser could abandon their Senate candidacies and run in the district, as both are from the area. The possibility exists that other current candidates for Congress in adjoining congressional districts could...

Allen West has decided to switch to the newly proposed 18th district in Florida for reelection. Here is his statement below: After much prayer, reflection and discussion with my close friends and family, I am announcing today my decision to seek reelection in Floridas proposed 18th Congressional district. I have always believed the state of Florida would be best served by having both Congressman Tom Rooney and myself in the House of Representatives working to solve our nations most pressing problems. I have never waivered from my vision; to work to create jobs, restrain federal government spending, reduce Americas ever...

The controversy over Allen Wests proposed boundaries is finally getting national attention, but at what expense? Thanks in part to a recent post by South Florida blogger Javier Manjarres of the Shark Tank, the Florida Legislature and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney are being slammed by the media for abandoning West. Rush Limbaugh even took up the cause on a recent radio show.

"Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America," Rep. Allen West (R-FL) said at the Palm Beach County Republican Party Lincoln Day dinner. West represents the district in the U.S. Congress.

Jacksonville,FL- After last night’s Republican Presidential debate, the candidates’ respective spinmeisters made their cases to the media as to why their guy won the debate. One of Governor Mitt Romney’s spokesmen was Florida Representative Will Weatherford, and during the course of his remarks in the “Spin Room”, he shed a very dim light on the ongoing redistricting process in the Florida Legislature. Over the past several weeks, many Republicans have voiced their disappointment towards the Republican legislature after the release of the preliminary redistricting maps. Much of the ire concerns the proposed boundaries of Congressman Allen West’s 22nd Congressional District...

The establishment is fighting back, alright. This has not received a lot of national attention, but the Republican legislature in Florida is about to push through a plan which puts Allen West at serious risk, and the person leading the effort is one of Mitt Romneys spokemen. As reported by The Shark Tank:

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) had a strong message Saturday for President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Get the hell out.

Allen West, in discussing what the Republican Party needs to do to get black voters into the Republican party, was asked which presidential candidate has the conservative principles to help turn the tide of high unemployment in the black community, and he was quick to point out that despite those on the left accusing Newt of race-baiting, he believes that Newt is the one who is diagnosing the problem well and is trying to open a dialogue with the black community by offering to speak before the NAACP.

A few words from God, Reagan, Lincoln, and Jefferson. Rep. Allen West (R-FL) spoke at the March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Monday, and delivered a remarkably potent speech. He was primarily reading the words of others, but he chose them well, and delivered them with clarity and power. Reagan spoke for the ages when he said, We cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live, and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide. I might even shorten that quote to make another point about the current crisis: We cannot...

Rep. Allen B. West took to the airwaves Monday to defend former House Speaker Newt Gingrich against charges from a top Democrat that Mr. Gingrich used racist code words to fuel his double-digit win over the weekend in the South Carolina Republican primary. Rep. James E. Clyburn of South Carolina, one of the top-ranking Democrats in the House, and black activist Al Sharpton have been sharply critical of Mr. Gingrichs repeated references to President Obama as the food-stamp president. But Mr. West, a tea party conservative who is the first black Republican elected to Congress from Florida since 1873, said...

Source: Steven Nelson The Daily Caller Florida Republican Rep. Allen West may be the Republican candidate for vice president in 2012. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said at a Republican Palm Beach County fundraiser that if he won the Republican presidential nomination, he would strongly consider a Floridian as his running mate. Allen West would certainly be someone youd look at, Gingrich told NBC affiliate WPTV. West responded, We dont know what the future holds, but Im always willing to serve my country. I have to pray about it and I have to clear it with my...

Anyone who has listened to radio talk show host Joyce Kaufman, 850 WFTL, knows that she is not shy about speaking her mind. She is a Tea Party favorite who helped propel Rep. Allen West to his position, but some of her fans are shocked at a recent proclamation that she will vote for Barack Obama if Mitt Romney becomes the Republican nominee. Kaufman is unwavering in her position and reiterated it on the record with BPR. (Audio file)

The media, along with the White House and its talking dogs, Leon Panetta and Hillary Clinton, have joined the usual ragtag terrorists in the Muslim camp in condemning our troops employed by our government to kill the Taliban for allegedly urinating on Taliban bodies. I have a simple question, because I'm confused by Obama's stance: Which is more inhumane, killing someone or urinating on him? I'm not a legal expert, but I'm sure the penalty in Washington, D.C., for killing a person is more severe than just peeing on that person. Whatever the penalty is for urinating on...

Allen West asked this morning, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, that the President not play the race card in 2012. After all, his election was the fulfillment of Dr. Kings dream, West said, and how devastated would Dr. King be to know the Americans who are still fomenting racism at the highest levels are the very people for whom he fought for and died?

If elected in November, Love would be the first black Republican woman in Congress and Utah's first black representative. She said she would join the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C., should she win. "Yes, yes. I would join the Congressional Black Caucus and try to take that thing apart from the inside out," she said.

Allen West, like a boss. From The Weekly Standard: I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah. All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?...
-
Candidly, the story of a handful of Marines videotaping themselves urinating on dead Taliban fighters is a subject I’ve feared to broach because it is heart-breaking to think those men so lost their sense of shared humanity — if only for those minutes — as to do what they did. Rep. Allen West has given me a way to write about it, though, by saying it all better than I ever could. In an e-mail to The Weekly Standard, West wrote: I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I...

Rep. Allen West (R-FL), a former Army lieutenant colonel, sent The Weekly Standard an email commenting on a recent video depicting what appears to be four U.S. Marines urinating on the corpses of Taliban terrorists. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung...

The Democrats are chomping at the bit to reclaim Floridas 22nd Congressional District seat, snatched from them in 2010 by Allen West, R-Plantation. Although they need someone with the mental agility to match Wests talent for thinking on his feet, they also want someone free of corruption and controversy. For example, they dont need another Congressman Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar. While serving as a federal judge, a Hastings go-between accepted $25,000 as a down payment to a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a favorable ruling. Former West Palm Beach Mayor Lois Frankel claims to have the moxie to confront West. Unlike...

President Obamas recent decision to drastically cut future military spending puts the United States in a weakened position vis-a-vis despot regimes and terrorist organizations who are always looking for gratuitous opportunities to attack U.S. interests, according to Congressman Allen West. West says that there is a sense of weakness that we are conveying, and there is a window of opportunity that people like Iran are seeing. According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, Obamas proposed cuts to the military budget could shrink by over 30% in the next decade- The Administration projects outlays at 2.7% of GDP in 2021,...

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) gave an interview to Washington D.C. radio station WMAL on Friday, in which the shy and retiring former Army colonel quietly expressed a few mild criticisms of the Obama Administrations recently announced military cuts. Also, hes just the tiniest bit displeased with the way both House and Senate Republican leaders handled the payroll tax cut drama at the end of the year. The hosts really had to work to bring Rep. West out of his shell...

TALLAHASSEE Florida's new redistricting standards, coupled with the 10-year shift in population, have forced Republicans to do what is rarely done in politics sacrifice incumbents and that is not going over well with some Republicans. The possible casualties include U.S. Rep. Allen West, whose Broward to Palm Beach-based district would become more Democratic in every map proposed by both the state House and Senate. Broward Republicans have launched a website "saveallenwest.com." and are mounting a campaign to pressure legislators to revamp the maps to make them more in line with what they believe are the...

I thought this would be interesting to share with all fans and supporters of Rubio here and all those who think only leftist Democrats and leftists disguised as Republicans supported this bill. Thought it would be interesting to see a Conservative perspective of support for the bill, admist all the claims that this was something done by Obama to start to create a Communist regime. This has been posted in replies to other posts before but I thought it was deserving of its own thread, so here it is.

Well I tell ya Greta, give me the opportunity to be in leadership in Washington DC and I think youd see something different. Because coming out of the military, we didnt go home until the mission was complete. So maybe thats what the American people need to understand. Its about time we take a chance with some of the young leaders that we have sent to Washington DC and move away from this establishment rhetoric and this game that they play in Washington DC.

Many Democrats are giddy about a recent proposal by Floridas Republican leadership to drastically change the boundaries defining Congressional District 22, now represented by the high profile Republican Congressman, Allen West. But the decision has left some in the Republican Party scratching their heads. Broward Republican Executive Committee Vice Chairwoman Colleen Stolberg has sharply criticized the Reapportionment Committee proposal to change District 22 boundaries in a way that would jeopardize Wests chances for re-election.

"If Joseph Goebbels was around, he'd be very proud of the Democrat Party because they have an incredible propaganda machine." Those words of Congressman Allen West, R-Plantation, caused local Democrats and their Jewish supporters to shake and shiver with anger laced with a bit of politics. Frankly, I don't know which posture is more important to them. The Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Committee and local Jewish organizations immediately responded to calls for action from their Democratic cohorts and sent out messages of outrage to West over his comments

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) landed in hot water on Friday for his remarks the previous day comparing the Democrats proficiency in getting out their message to the notorious head of the Nazi Partys propaganda department under Hitler. If Joseph Goebbels was around, hed be very proud of the Democrat Party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine, West said Thursday. Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) sent West a note expressing his disappointment in the remark. I beg of you to help raise the level of congressional discourse in vigorous debate without resort to personal attacks, Conyers wrote in a handwritten...

A funny thing happened in the year between Rep. Allen Wests election and the end of his first session in Congress. The freshman Republican discovered nuance in politics. Whether its a spending bill, a debt-limit vote or a flood insurance measure, West has proved to be more ideologically dynamic and flexible than any of his caricaturists imagined, undermining his reputation as a tea party iconoclast while eliciting deep sighs of relief from House Republican leadership. Thats not to say hes fallen into lock step with them: This week, hes locking horns with GOP leaders over their payroll tax extender package....

On Wednesday night, only one lawmaker Congressman Allen West walked away with a prize from the annual Funniest Celebrity in Washington contest. Beating out rivals Senator Scott Brown and Democratic Congressman Earl Blumenaue, the Florida Republican won third runner up by sharing some clever jokes on how hearing about a colleagues Uncle Tom made him feel warm and welcome as the only African American conservative in the Congressional Black Caucus. Delivering a zinger to Georgia Democrat and fellow Black Caucus member John Lewis, West blazed: The first thing I got sworn into was the Congressional Black Caucus. Now...

Two Florida Republicans -- though one is far better known for his political career in Arkansas -- are wading into the race for their partys presidential nomination this week. While no Floridian has ever been added to a national ticket, West said he would be open to running for vice president.

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) said Wednesday he would advise Herman Cain to let voters move on from the distraction of his campaign. Cain told his campaign this week it is time to reassess in light of the resurfacing of old sexual harassment allegations and new accusations this week that he carried on a 13-year affair. "Beyond reassessing his campaign, he probably needs to understand that he is a distracter for what's going on right now and we should move on," West told WMALs radio show Morning Majority. West, a Tea Party favorite, indicated Cain is already out of the running...
