Common-Sense Politician Control
December 19, 2012 | E. Pluribus Unum

It is no secret that many federal politicians/legislators leave office far, far wealthier than when they entered, for no apparent reason.

Through the irresponsible laws they pass at the behest of their political benefactors, politicians have been the cause of millions of jobs lost and thousands of resulting deaths from suicide, depression and stress, not to mention skyrocketing budget deficits and a national debt that will be 73% of GDP at the end of 2012.

In order to save lives, we need to implement some common-sense oversight of federal legislative officials, such as:

  1. All candidates for federal legislative office must undergo a thorough FBI background check including confirmation of their eligibility for the office they seek. Failure to submit to this background check will result in a $10,000 fine and ten years in prison.

  2. All financial data must be made public. All assets, all liabilities, and all income. No exceptions. Violation will result in a $10,000 fine and ten years in prison.

  3. All elected federal office-holders must wear a webcam/microphone wired to the Internet 24/7 so their constituents can monitor any illegal activities. Failure to observe this rule will result in a $10,000 fine and ten years in prison.

  4. All elected federal officials must submit to random drug tests four times a year. Failure to submit to this drug test will result in a $10,000 fine and ten years in prison.

  5. After serving a period of ten years in elected office, a federal office-holder must spend six months in federal prison as punishment for whatever it was that they got away with. Failure to submit to report to prison for this sentence will result in a $10,000 fine and ten years in prison.

6. If family wealth exceeds that which would equal inflation + 10% compounded annually over the total government term, said officeholder will be fined the excess plus 15% penalty.

LOL.

Are you suggesting that politicians can’t be trusted?

$10,000 fine and ten years in a federal country club is not about to stop any of the shenanigans these folk participate in.

3 & 5 are a bit OTT.

But I would add that any failure to comply would disqualify the official from seeking any future government office, elected or non-elected. Also, the official would be prohibited from being within 100 miles of DC (to reduce influence peddling).

like trigger guards, all elected politicians must have mouth guards securely in place at all time except when actually in use, as in eating or manditory talking. Random tlaking is not allowed and anyone so injured during these unprovked talking events will have the unlimited right to sue. Failure to maintain mouth guards, rendering the mouth inpoperable $10,000 fine and 10 years per occuance.

7. Any and all laws will apply equally to all elected officials.

8. Any laws passed concerning elected officials will apply equally to the rest of the citizenry.
