Lets see, governments have killed hundreds of millions in the last 100 years and law abiding private citizens have killed how many illegally?
What could possibly go wrong with only allowing governments and criminals to have guns?

IMHO, it would prevent a lot of unnecessary violence and bloodshed if Obama really would do this. I mean that literally - Obama himself, personally going house-to-house confiscating all personal weapons.

Sorry, I don’t believe it.
They know they can’t confiscate weapons without instigating massive riots and outright civil war.
They will not confiscate guns. They will make gun ownership unaffordable by taxing guns and ammo out of the hands of all but the rich, along with onerous regulations that make criminals out of all private gun owners.
This is the method they will use to disarm Americans, not outright door-to-door confiscation.
