The democrats are going hell bent for leather to pass a gun control bill in the next three weeks. If you are counting on the republicans to stop it, you are going to be extremely disappointed. The GOP is going to split -- and a larger than expected portion of them WILL support the Assault Weapons Ban pushed by the democrats. It is my sense, at this writing, that THE ASSAULT WEAPON BAN WILL PASS CONGRESS and be signed into law by Obama later this month or early in February.
I can only ask that you forgive my frustration. You see, I am having difficulty grasping the fact that my fellow Americans are going to lie down, whimpering, as the bullies of the political left just run right over them.

I agree. All this nonsense about writing letters, emails, phone calls, tweets, twits, shits, whatever it may be, DOESN'T WORK. They ignore EVERYTHING.
The only thing to get their attention is a face to face confrontation. THAT'S what it's boiling down to. And they will lose.
Most likely it will start in one of the states that does not have unbelievalbe restrictions on gun ownership first in an effort to overwhelm that state.
I for one does not want to see a hot war to start, but with the divisions being so bad, it would not surprise me though.
Obama could issue an Executive Order directing ATF and FBI to construct the national gun-owner registry that Congress has repeatedly told him he cannot have.
Using Form 4473, pawn shop and other records, something like a rough list of everyone in the country who owns guns could be assembled very quickly, which RatRoots could then use to harass and menace gun owners directly.
In short, Barky plays nasty, and with the tools at his disposal, he could do a lot.
It would be more timely from his POV, to wait until he's used the "fiscal cliff" or some other phony "fiscal crisis" to blow down the military and purge out patriots, leaving the scum-sucking "New America" military that would follow his orders and happily kill Americans in any play to war down the Constitution of the United States.
And while you're at it, get a bunch of scrap iron, two-penny spikes, railroad spikes, and other bits and pieces to strew around your property -- drive them well into the dirt -- to screw up metal detectors. Hell, bury a few random 18" lengths of 1" galvanized pipe, using a trencher, just to bugger them up good.

We have a big Gun Show scheduled this weekend in our little town, it normally has a pretty good turn out, but this one has been hyped and advertised and I am betting that parking a block or two away will be prime parking.

Try finding an evil "black gun" or ammunition for it at a reasonable price right now......then ask yourself if arming to the teeth sounds like preparing to lie down and whimper. No one is buying at these prices and paying through the nose so they can just hand them over out of the goodness of their heart.
Some of my friends have been historically harassed by their other half after every firearm purchase.....now have pissed off wives asking them - "do we have enough ammo," or "should we get a few more magazines for my rifle?"

The claim authority by way of that steaming pile of socialist sophistry referred to in polite company as the "New Deal Commerce Clause". Basically they claim the right to regulate anything that has a "substantial effect on interstate commerce".
They do the same for the DEA and EPA, so they're getting ready to ban posession of guns like they banned posession of marijuana. How's that been working out for them?
