Civilans should be able to own anything the government can own. We are, after all, the government.

Anyone that doesn't think civilians shouldn't be able to legally own full auto weapons isn't living in reality.

They are legal to own today, with some paperwork.

Cannons are legal, and don't require the paperwork. Traditional gatling guns are legal, and don't require paperwork.

I don't think you are conservative. You may be a Republican, but you aren't a conservative.

You are also a coward, running scared of your government.

If it was up to you purists there would be no "game" (a strange choice of words). There are not enough people who would fit your definition of purity to ever form a political party capable of achieving power.

And since you brought up Reagan, I assume he never did anything which was impure in your eyes. He too compromised not because he wanted to but because he had to considering the reality of DC at the time of his presidency. The greatest men know when to do so.

There would be chaos on the right and the Dems would control the country.

There is.

They do.

Your 'practical politics' isn't winning you crap.

So civilians should be able to own NBCR weapons? I just want to get a direct answer from you?

Also, do you consider anyone who does not think civilians should own automatic weapons and enemy of the Second Amendment and impure?

I gave you a direct answer. Civilians should be able to own any weapon that the government can own.

Civilians do now own full auto firearms.

Anyone that wants to take those away is an enemy of the 2nd amendment.

It has won conservatives the House of Representatives and the Senate and White House in the past. What have you purists won? What has the Constitution Party or that Alan Keyes party won?

And do you really think that even a majority here on FR much less the country as a whole would agree with you?

A little history for you.

Dr. Gatling with the Gatling gun was a civilian.

Hiram Maxim, of Maxim machine gun fame, was a civilian.

John Moses Browning, inventor of many full auto firearms, was a civilian.

All of those guys did that in their shops, as private citizens, and later sold their weapons to governments.

You aren't going to change my mind.

It has won conservatives the House of Representatives and the Senate and White House in the past.

You can kiss that off in the future. I expect the House to go to the Democrats in 2014, because of the left movement of the GOP.

Regarding full autos, I assume you do not agree with all the extra paper work and government red tape that goes along with legally owning one since it is not authorized by the Constitution, yet you are not calling for disobeying such laws like you have done regarding future bans on magazines and semi autos. Doesn’t that make you impure by your own standards.

I have called for repeal of the 1934 Act since I found out about it (early 1960s). I believe it is unconstitutional.

And that is exactly the type of attitude which will prevent you from ever forming a meaningful coalition of conservatives to ever gain political power in this country. If you cut out everyone who disagrees with you on this issue or abortion or immigration, or whatever issue you are unwilling to compromise on, then you would be able to fit that coalition into a phone booth.

I know that and agree with it being unconstitutional, but in today’s political climate it is unlikely to be overturned, but that doesn’t mean I would never form a political coalition with those who think otherwise. To do so would be political suicide.

The GOP is rapidly losing power in this country, so what they are doing certainly isn't working.

If you don't agree with me about abortion or firearms, I don't want a coalition with you.

The other side is already murdering babies and trying to steal firearms, why would I want to have anything with a 2nd rate party doing the same thing?

The only true purist was crucified.

Reagan had a few things I took issue with. His biggest mistake and one he admitted that WAS his biggest mistake was the immigration. So I’m fine with a man that admits he was wrong. Which he did. Which you won’t.

Again, the opposite of purity is corruption. Every time one of you screams “purist”, what you are really saying is that you are OK with corruption. Because if you were not OK with it, “puris” would not be a bad word to you.

BTW, ever going to address my Burqua comments?

Probably not as you just keep right on dodging. Thank you for turning more against the GOP.

The use of small tactical nukes, even hastily re-assembled neutron weapons for “anti militia” pacification efforts could really put a crimp on organized efforts for local militia efforts to oppose tyrannical central governments. Small towns and cities in “red” areas who support such freedom minded folk could be faced with life or death ultimatums.

Given the comments of that recently retired general regarding our second amendment rights, I could imagine such a nuke use scenario. Many older more conservative officers have been “retired” and replaced by more leftist “compliant” officers and “home sexual tolerant leftists”. They’ll do what Obama tells them period. Also look for Obama types to dilute the check/double check command and controls on the nukes to give Obamamites a more direct hand in ordering the use of nukes.
