Wanted: Ten Thousand Hobby Lobbies

America needs ten thousand more. America needs thousands of businesses to resist this lawless administration in Washington and stand on the principles of freedom as Hobby Lobby has bravely done. These principles of freedom are enshrined in America’s founding documents, although they are not given to us by those documents. Our freedoms come from God alone, not government, and the fact that our current federal government spits on our God-given freedoms is a gross affront to our nation and its citizens.

By now you have heard of the courageous stand the Christian owners of the national arts and crafts retail chain Hobby Lobby have taken against the clearly unconstitutional “Obamacare” mandate that forces American citizens and businesses to pay for medical policies that cover abortion-inducing drugs. Hobby Lobby’s Christian owners, CEO and founder David Green and his family, have refused to provide their employees insurance policies that cover abortion drugs, so the feds have decided to make an example out of Hobby Lobby by threatening the Greens with fines of 1.3 millions dollars a day for noncompliance. So, with no other recourse, the Greens are suing for their religious freedom.

The Greens are being represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, yet another precious, non-profit, public-interest legal and educational institute that fights for religious liberty. In a statement from September, David Green declared:

We know that we have been blessed by God’s grace, and we believe it is because we have chosen to live our lives and to operate our business according to His word, and we are very grateful for that.

But now our faith is being challenged by the federal government. The Health and Human Services “preventative services” mandate forces businesses to provide the “morning-after” and the “week-after” pills in our health insurance plans. These abortion-causing drugs go against our faith, and our family is now being forced to choose between following the laws of the land that we love or maintaining the religious beliefs that have made our business successful and have supported our family and thousands of our employees and their families. We simply cannot abandon our religious beliefs to comply with this mandate.

Bravo! If only thousands more businesses would take such a stand! If only millions of Americans would do likewise! Unless we resist this lawless federal government, our freedoms will be crushed. Don’t doubt it for a minute!

They filed their lawsuit in September in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma, where Hobby Lobby headquarters are. In October, the un-American Department of Injustice shot off a 52-page refusal for a preliminary injunction which basically declares that the owners of Hobby Lobby have no religious freedom. The Greens have been wickedly denied preliminary injunctive relief by the Oklahoma District Court, the DOJ, and the leftist, Obama implant on the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor.

What this communist federal government is doing—and currently getting away with—is an unspeakable outrage! The fed’s war on American business and job creators (and our freedoms in general) just keeps getting dirtier by the minute. These lawless commies in the Obama administration (and their lackeys in District Court) will not even allow the Greens to have a break from the evil abortion pill mandate (which they euphemistically call “preventative services”), not to mention the ridiculous, arbitrary 1.3 million-dollar-per-day “penalty,” while the lawsuit is pending. I am wondering how the feds can force the Greens to pay this money—at the point of a gun, perhaps? If I were the Greens, I would tell the feds to stick their contemptible fine in their pipe and smoke it, but I’m certain the Greens are much nicer than I am.

I applaud Hobby Lobby. Tyranny is falling on America, and we need thousands more businesses like Hobby Lobby and hundreds of millions of Americans to RESIST federal (even state and local) tyranny, or we WILL lose our freedoms to this monstrous Obama administration and Congress of crooks, not to mention the anti-constitutional courts across the nation.

It is a terrible day in America when a business owner like David Green must write these words:

We don’t like to go running into court, but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.

My family has lived the American dream. We want to continue growing our company and providing great jobs for thousands of employees, but the government is going to make that much more difficult. The government is forcing us to choose between following our faith and following the law. I say that’s a choice no American – and no American business – should have to make.

I love Hobby Lobby. The two near me are an hour in either direction and I gladly drive the distance.

They have everything you need in baking, party, art and craft supplies.

Just walking through their store and seeing what is available is an absolute joy.

Hobby Lobby is one of the few stores that carries the Krylon
Looking Glass Spray Paint needed to make those wonderful
antique mercury glass look-alike items.

Krylon sprayed on clear glass items---lots of tutorials on-line.

====================================

NO STORES NEAR YOU? SHOP HOBBY LOBBY ONLINE

http://www.hobbylobby.com/home.cfm?market=yp

Many spray paint produts have been tried---silver, chrome. nickle---but Krylon Looking Glass does the trick. Hard to find---but Hobby Lobby has it. Some crafters spray droplets of water inside the glass before spray painting----has that antique mottled look after it dries.

==========================================

Here's another mercury glass project. As you know---you can buy bushels of these silvery ornaments really cheap--- even cheaper at post-Christmas sales.

ANTIQUING GLASS CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS

MARTHASTEWART.COM...has this simple technique that lends new, shiny glass ornaments the muted, authentic appearance of antique mercury glass in. NOTE: As authentic mercury glass ages, it loses some of its luster and tends to darken in spots. DIY'ers will need a little paint and small sponges to get the effect.

Tools and Materials---1 small tube of white gouache paint, 1 small tube of black gouache paint, 2 small natural sponges,Tissues

How-To

1. Place tea each white/black paint in separate bowls. Dilute with water droplets til consistency of heavy cream. 2. dab entire surface with sponge dipped in white gouache cream. 3. While still wet, use tissues to gently dab creating a mottled look. 4. W/ 2nd sponge, lightly and sparingly dab a few places with black gouache. 5. Use clean tissues to lighten and blur the black spots, creating the appearance of flaked mercury glass. 6. Let dry for at least 1 hour.

Which has more impact - shopping at Hobby Lobby or donating to the legal group helping them fight Obamacare?

Not only do I love the store and the many options you have available, I love going in and listening to wonderful music. Uplifting music. Not he kind that makes you feel like rushing out the door because the lyrics are obnoxious or too pornographic, but music that ministers to your soul.

I will look up the agency representing them and see if they have monthly donations possible, and I will go into HL every chance I am in town. We go to CF when we are out and need a bite to eat, so we can do this, as well.
