Exactly. What this statement actually means is that they're already facing a backlash they weren't ready for and are scrambling to find something they can do to save face. My guess is that the Republicans will roll, too, even when they don't have to because they've done it before. BTT.

I've stated to my congress-critter and Senators both (well, their offices) that there is to be NO COMPROMISE on this issue - that the left has gone as far as they are going to on gun control, and even if they pass new laws they will be ignored.

This has to be our line in the sand. I tried to get that across to the moron aides on the phone but I'm not sure they got it.
