I bought three boxes of 22LR hollow point at Cabela’s yesterday for delivery in one or two weeks.

Ain’t happening, Sir/Mam. Most manufacturers are out of components.

And any that they make from this point on will go to the distrubutors who will be selling in bulk.

Last price I heard for 1000 rds of .223 was $1250. And they were gone within hours.

And don’t forget about all the law enforcement agencies that are now telling the world that they don’t have enough ammo to train and equip their officers/deputies/agents. They’re going to get first dibs on anything that is produced. Ya know, for the public good and all.

I wish you luck.

Bulk bullets have been really scarce since the election, and are even more scarce now. Just about every .224 bullet 55 grain and up is gone. FMJ 9mm and .45 APC are really difficult to find. I am thinking about reloading with lead instead, it is cheaper and my gun club allows it the indoor range.

“Fawn” asking for bullets?

Isn’t this like Nervous Tick wondering where he might find some good tick repellent?

Bigfish nosing about for hooks?

ROCKLOBSTER poking around for traps?

Something funny here...hmmmmm??

You will probably need to go to gun shows, but be prepared to bring a wheelbarrow full of cash.

Sadly, Fawn, you're about 2 months too late. Most suppliers are out of common calibers, but the ones who have them have jacked prices.

I buy from Midway USA, BulkAmmo.com, LuckyGunner, and Ammoman.com. I used to buy from CheaperThanDirt, but they ain't that anymore.

Try:

Bud's Gun Shop (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php), and

Tombstone Tactical (http://www.tombstonetactical.com)

Many local gun shops still carry a wide variety of ammo. Most try not to sell completely out by limiting quantities because being out completely affects sales of weapons they sell. If you go into one of these stores and can’t buy ammo for the pistol or rifle, you probably won’t buy it so they will keep some on hand. The 22 rifles I have fire 22 magnum ammo, but can also fire regular 22 LR ammo. That is extremely handy for practice and target shooting as 22 LR ammo is much cheaper.

Can someone tell me where to buy reasonably priced bullets online?? Thank you...

Over the weekend I was playing with a new reloading press (Lee Classic Turret -- zehr cool!), and ran myself flat out of .38 bullets.

I went to check MidwayUSA to see what they might have. Zounds! 1 SKU showing as available, 24 as unavailable, no backorder.

Guess I'll have to wait until it warms up, and cast my own.

http://gun-deals.com/ammo

This site lists the best buys and prices on ammo. Good luck, most places are out of the popular calibers.
