National Republican leaders came to Austin on Tuesday to learn how to win over minority voters.

A "how not to win" lesson was across the street.

"Press 1 for English -- Press 2 to Deport" read a 25-foot banner displayed by a small and chilly group of Houston activists.

"We're here because the Republican Party has given up," said Elizabeth Theiss, an anti-immigration activist.

That will get conservatives fleeing the party, but the good news is they can exchange that for a bump of 1 percent in the illegal alien vote, soon to be legal aliens. These idiots are working desperately to be a permanent minority party, which is how some of them like it. It is past time to dump these losers, we have tried for too long to reform from within.

That makes some sense.

Leaving out the word “illegal” before the word “immigration” again. That’s our good old many-times-accursed liberal press.

You can do the right thing for the country ... or you can "upgrade your image".

The GOP can take a flying leap.

Oh, great. The dummy-crat-lite party rears its stupid head. I guess the term “Illegal” doesn’t mean anything anymore.

If we don’t come up with a 3rd party before 2014, then this country’s doomed.

"Look what happened last fall," Adams said.

"Gov. Romney was a great man and a sound businessman. But when his immigration policy involved 'self-deportation' -- what kind of idiotic comment was that? We have to embrace a way for people to register, pay their taxes and fines and work legally."

Any legislation that legalizes the status of those who broke our laws by entering our country illegally and allows them to stay is amnesty. We must not only prevent the Democrats and some moderate Republicans from hijacking the meaning of the word amnesty, but the public must be made aware about the true impact of an amnesty.

The Heritage Foundation concluded that the cost of amnesty alone would be $2.6 trillion, which would cover just entitlement program costs. And the number of additional LEGAL immigrants who would join those who were the recipients of amnesty through chain migration, i.e., family reunification, would approach 70 million over a 20-year period, assuming there are only 12 million illegal aliens.

We cannot assimilate such numbers. An amnesty would destroy the United States of America with the stroke of a pen.

If anyone has the ability I have a picture I could share but don’t know how to post it. I would need an email to send it to though. Quite funny...a young dredlock Austin guy said at the street corner after reading the banner: “Man, I wish I could get deported”

who the eff won’t hire minorities?

have you been to a fast food joint in Mississippi...rare is a white person ...

no one in their right mind today will not hire a non white person for anything but a damn good reason

problem is too many won’t work

not for 8-12 buck an hour

they game disability, EBT, welfare, etc and then deal dope and make 30-40K a year just piddling

why go work 40 hours a week and bring home 900-1200 a month?

that is their logic and culture now since the early 70s

i own a chain of car washes in a fairly black state...TN...i have hired scores of workers over the years and never ever has a black or latino asked for work...never

i see some minority day labor at the big tunnels but for me with regular help paid cash weekly like a contract salary...never

Alinsky tactics are proven effective but you should use them on your enemies not your base.

There is a substantial amount of high school drop-outs that are Hispanics that were brought over when their parents were hired illegally...try them.
Also consider that over 2-3 decades Americans were displaced through the illegal hiring system until entire segments were taken over by Spanish-speaking illegals. Businesses brought this problem on bit by bit over the years. Now extortion is occurring in the trades via the subs (that’s why they want to tax’em & ID’em).
To me the USA is always more important than somebody else’s business. We don’t have another George Washington waiting in the wings.

"How many protesters were there? Seven? They must have had to hire six of them," he said, laughing at Theiss' group.

Ridiculing and marginalizing the protesters.

I did not say they were

I gave personal and observational evidence on blacks

I do not for one nanosecond believe someone will not hire a minority for being one

That is a canard better suited for progressive boards
