From George76’s post:

” I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new “litmus test” in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks. “The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not.” Those who will not are being removed.”

OK one way to validate this thing is to keep tabs on which notable personnel are leaving the military.

Write letters to each asking if they were asked that question.

Publish the results here.

Start with the general that is stepping down.

Ask him.

What happened at Waco? Aside from the obvious "don't join a wackadoodle cult and get into a pointless gunfight and protracted seige with the feds", you mean? That's pretty much what happened at Waco. It's tragic (and, at best, criminally negligent) that women and children died there, but let's not romanticise what they died over.

That said, it's no great feat of arms to roll armored vehicles towards a cult compound and burn it to the ground. That sort of thing is pretty much what armored vehicles are built for. And it's a whole different ballgame than trying to occupy a 'friendly' town full of deer rifles on the roofs and handguns around every corner.

Just like in Iraq and Afghanistan, the military has great advantage while on the move, but is vulerable to being bled down once it has to hold territory. Combat arms units can do so effectively, provided they have a relaxed ROE. (Other units, like a finance or supply battalion, not so much.) Combat arms units are a drop in the bucket, compared to the scope of the country, and a relaxed ROE will cause a lot of YouTube worthy footage that won't help the government's cause.

The comparison to Waco really isn't apt on any level, aside from, at best, the government's willingness to use force.

I may be wrong but I understood that the compound members never fired a shot.

There was no gun fight at Waco, it was simply an unlawful seige by Janet REno’s thugs, and only her thugs did any firing, this has been proven.

Jerks think that they can call anyone that they wish to marginalize a “wackadoodle cult,” but this is still a constitutional republic, and beliefs are to be respected.

Waco is the quintessential perfect comparison; much more so than Ruby Ridge was; that was done in secret for the most part.

You really did give yourself away on this.

You are 100% correct.

And they were not in a “compound,” it was a church complex with school rooms, an auditorium, and a library.

I need to know if this is true. Right down to the bedrock.

If it is, then we will all need to talk

Since the end of WW II, absolutely.

The News manufacturing industry pulled out troops out of Viet Nam after the war had been won, and before the Vietnamese could establish a hold.

What do you call that?

Or Stormin’ Norman being held back from Bagdad?

Are you aware of how the siege at Waco started? I don’t want to be standing up for the government here, but let’s at least keep our history straight.

Four ATF agents (and six Branch Dividians) were killed on February 28th 1993 while attempting to serve a warrant. That was the gunfight which lead to the siege.

During the raid itself, 50 days after the intial gunfight, there were conflicting reports between the government and the Branch Dividian survivors over who shot first (and if anyone fired back), but that’s 50 days past the point you should have called your lawyer, surrendered peacefully and had your day in court. If you kill four ATF agents, the government is going to surround your house and get you, dead or alive.

The government was unnecessarily heavy handed in how they handled the situation, given the presence of so many non-combatants, but David Koresh had 50 days to man up and admit playing sex Jesus to teenage girls was a game not worth dying over. He’s nobody we should be emulating, either tactically or philosophically.

Twenty years or so ago the teamsters faced down the commander of CECOM, a two star, over ‘work place issues’ including a directive that employee autos parked in no parking areas would be towed. The Teamster local chief baldly told the CECOM CO he didn't give a F what the general wanted. Bring it on. His people would be happy to mix it up with the MP’s. He pointed out his folks didn't care about getting arrested they would all be taken care of by the union. The general however, would see his career go down in flames if a riot between MP’s and CECOM workers led the evening news in jersey. The CO blinked and the new regulations were effectively gutted.

“Beliefs are to be respected”?

What beliefs? Polygamy with 13 year old girls and other men’s wives? You respect that? You think that should be legal?

No, sorry, I don’t respect those beliefs, and I’m a pretty squishy libertarian. You can be anti-government tyranny without signing on to support sexual abuse. You’d have a hard time selling Branch Dividian ideas in San Francisco. Or anywhere west of Mecca.

I don’t know how this conversation got so derailed, but if you’re looking to win the Best Conservative Evah trophy by dropping the Waco Truther card, then consider the game yours. I’ll wear the Damn Dirty RINO hat if the alternative is the Alex Jones crown.

That seeing eye dog just walk you into the street? The poster clearly said it was just his theory.

I’m all for theories, but there ain’t a poster here that KNOWS anything for a FACT regarding the gubmit’s reasons.

Those that know are not talking, those talking know nothing.

My theory is they have bought up a load of rounds as a bluff trying to scare us. Must be working with you Bravehearts.

According “The Pink Swastika”, the Night of the Long Knives was not about purging fags at all, but getting rid of Roehm due to fear he was going to compete with Hitler in a power struggle of some sort. Plenty of fags were left in the Nazi party. In fact, the Nazi philosophy was in its inception wedded to certain elements of homosexuality. Hitler was most likely one himself, according to “The Hidden Hitler”, a book by a German historian whose name I can’t remember at the moment. Lothar something or other, who is not “anti-gay” btw.

In fact the “book burning” was in actually to burn the records of the Human Sexuality Institute, or whatever it was called, that had a lot of records of Nazi sexual perversion.

Yep, a billion rounds of cop killer bullets were delivered to the National Weather Service. The forecasters are coming to get us.

Cool! Mine must still be in the mail.

So imagine Dianne Feinstein walking up to a bunch of soldiers and “ordering” them to start shooting at a Tea Party demonstration. “I’m a US senator and I *order* you to shoot those people! Obey me! Obey me!”

Watch the last scene in the movie "Shooter"...
