If “there’s nothing wrong with lip syncing,” then how come they never tell you in advance?

Some “singers” have said that there’s nothing wrong with lip syncing.

If what they say is true, then how come these “singers” never tell people in advance that they are lip syncing?

In my opinion, any “live” performer who is lip syncing should tell their audience that they are lip syncing, before they starting doing it.

And if they are charging money for their “performance,” they should tell you before you pay money for the ticket.

Otherwise, they are guilty of lying and fraud.

I remember once on American Bandstand the guest was an Elvis impersonator. Dick told us up front that they always lip sync on AB but he assured us it was the impersonator’s voice.

The country isn’t getting what it paid for from Obama (or maybe we are)....why should other liberals who are treated like royalty be any different?

I agree. What's the point of even going to a "live" concert if it's not live? The thrill, such as it is, of going to a concert is in the knowledge that at any moment, the performer could screw up, hit a sour note, forget the words, have a convulsion or a wardrobe malfunction, etc.

I don’t care about any of the so-called “performers” out there today. But lip-synching by anyone is dishonest. That’s all there is to it. If you were hired to sing - sing. If you can’t pull it off, don’t accept the gig.

It’s part of the “fake but accurate” mentality of people today. Maybe they should have paid her in imaginary money and lip synched the counting of it.

The mic was live during Beyonce's number. Her actual performance was captured on tape. You can watch and listen here
