Ain’t no such thing as “GUN SAFETY”.
Guns are inherently VERY safe. You have to get the right cartridges, then load properly, chamber the round, cock, place safety(ies) in the “off” position—then squeeze the trigger to make the thing go off even once. Then squeeze AGAIN (at least) to make it fire another time.
It’s quite a complicated procedure when you consider it.
The “saftey” that counts IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE EARS.
It is not irresponsible for the sheriff to suggest that is the only way to protect themselves - the sheriff is right. Listen up lib lurkers, the police will not protect you, they will not stop something bad from happening to you. They will show up after the crime has been committed, take pictures, fingerprints, and a report then go start looking for the suspects. Meanwhile you and your loved ones will be dealing with the aftermath of whatever some unbalanced or psychotic, or just plain mean person (s) has/have done - if you are still alive. Get it through your skulls and into that dream world you all seem to live in - the real world is dangerous, you, and you alone are responsible for your safety.
I mean all, from the man-child in the white hut right down to what Rush calls the low information gimme voters at the bottom.
.....Or just plain “demonic possed” persons.
Perhaps they’re blessed.
It wasn't in NYC (hell, I would live there), but in western Oklahoma in the 80's, my buddies and I used to carry our rifles TO SCHOOL in the gun rack of our pickup trucks! And the Superintendent of Schools knew it! And he would ask us how the hunt went in the morning.
And this was in the 80's, people!
