College students will soon wake up to the fact that they have been had. While they were overwhelmingly supportive of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA or ObamaCare) when their charismatic President was championing it, they will not be pleased when they find out that there is a huge price they will have to pay. ObamaCare will be anything but affordable.
Apparently, New Jersey is the only state in the nation that currently requires all college students to have healthcare coverage. This has always been a bare-bones plan costing from $100-600 per year. The new healthcare regulations will force these plans to be phased out, as the mandated coverage under ObamaCare will cause the premiums to rise from a few hundred dollars to $1,700 per year.
In an amazing example of irony, New Jersey Democrat Assemblywoman Celeste Riley is sponsoring a bill to eliminate New Jerseys mandatory health insurance for college students. Wait. Didnt Democrats overwhelmingly support the Presidents plan when it was being debated? Arent college students citizens that should be required to purchase government-approved coverage as defined by Obamas PPACA?
College students are getting an object lesson in progressivism. They will learn that their choices are being obliterated when it comes to what must be included in their plans. An edict came down that a college plan must cover 30 mental health outpatient visits as well as inpatient mental health benefits. It must cover substance and chemical abuse treatments, all pre-existing conditions, pregnancy, wellness/preventative care visits, contraception, and abortions.

Bttt.
It’s like the Union-run health car plan I was part of. It covered a little of everything that could possibly go wrong for anyone.
Probably 75% of the people covered were HS or College aged young adults paying for prostate exams, mammograms, etc. when all anyone wanted or needed was coverage for a major injury, surgeries, etc.
. . . or “stick ‘em up”, for which the politically correct phrase would be “reach for the sky”!!!!!
I thought kids were covered under their parents’ policy until age 26.
obama : “thanks for the votes, suckers!”
“College students” and “Teenagers” two of my most HATED “Groups”...now get the HELL off of my lawn!
Fix the link?

As John Roberts ruled, Obamacare is a tax and it's collected by the IRS. I wouldn't be surprised if most if not all of the tax collected goes to everything but healthcare. Look at Social Security. All of that money was loaned out to the federal government for other purposes.
Unfortunately, the educated dumb ass college students, minority groups, union thugs, demoRATs in general, will never be aware that their own voting behavior, to put RAT bastard socialist demoRATs into office is how they will end up in the predicament with higher insurance premiums, and reduced health care with shoddy, less quality results. Instead the media & demoRATs in their positions of elitist power will continue to blame all the ills & woes of 0dumb0 Care on the Republicans, for failing to keep raising taxes & more spending for entitlement programs
Eventually the house of cards will come tumbling down, and we will see violent results like we have never seen in Amerika USSA!
Money is fungable.
in a rational society, children aren’t allowed to vote
I’d like to hear how leftists in England and Canada feel about their gov’t run healthcare.
bump
What happens if their parents don’t have coverage? Or they become unemployed at some point?
There’s an iPhone/iPad app called “Get off my lawn”.
It plays an annoying tone that only young people can hear.
My husband and I cannot hear it, and we play the app when we want our teenagers to leave the room when we are watching TV.
We have a lot of fun with the app.
Thank you!! I can’t wait to try this! LOL!
