Now the LAPD has a real problem on their hands. There should be all sorts of officers fired over firing on random citizens. But some of those who should be fired might take offense and join in with Dorner. So they'll likely just be given counseling for PTSD.
Seriously, there needs to be some thought given to the idea of an assault truck ban, with eventual confiscation being a possibility.
Both trucks are currently harboring assault ammunition rounds. If these trucks are not licensed for the transport of assault ammunition, then they need to be permanently removed from the roadways.

In follow up news reports there were numerous bullet holes in buildings and cars including shattered glass in the area.
Hard to imagine how poorly these twits would have done if their target had been shooting back.
The biggest load of crap ever pawned off on the population by police is the excuse “Oh, it matched the description.”
In case anyone needed to know, “it/you/they matched the description” is a blanket excuse used to deflect criticism of police bungling.
Any time they screw up, they pull that out and usually go full steam after the person they’ve wronged.
After all, the next excuse they use is something along the lines of, “If you weren’t up to something we wouldn’t have noticed you.”
Absolutely right. I have to imagine that “incredible tension” is a rather common feature of being a police officer in a major city. If these clowns can’t handle such an environment, then they obviously need to be removed from it before they kill innocent people.

Those cops should be fired. 50+ rounds at the wrong color, make, and model of truck? They obviously didn’t even know who was in the truck. I assume you’re supposed to know who you are shooting at previous to firing.

Yes, they T-boned the obviously not grey pickup before attempting to murder the occupant.
An extremely uneducated analysis says they shot the rear axle right out of the truck.
