I’m dismayed that 7 cops firing from fairly close range caused no more than moderate injuries for their two targets. Not condoning anything; while I’m glad (for the sake of the women) that the cops’ marksmanship sucked, fact is the cops’ marksmanship sucked. If we’re supposed to rely on such professionalism, then heck yeah I want/need an “assault weapon”.
I am in complete agreement. Some of the police hatred that is posted reminds of the ramblings of the Black Panthers during the 60s and the 70s. Our current administration wants...no needs... chaos . The best way to get it is to have people hate the police to weaken the military, and unleash their thugs. Sometimes it feels like the1930s Germany

Police need to stop shooting dogs, civilians in no-knock raids, and for that matter assembling SWAT teams for anything and everything. They have militarized to the point that to “protect and serve” is laughable, and their conduct is no different than that of paramilitary death squads, assassinating citizens. (For example, shooting on the two vans seen as possibly holding Dorner, to say nothing of Guerena and many others.) Police also routinely support gun control, e.g. the cops arresting the soldier who had 5 normal-cap mags in his car in NY.
My question about how many cops were on scene where 7 of them shot at the (wrong-make-and-model) blue pickup truck was never answered. But just in case there were only 7 there, then 100% of those officers are “bad apples.” There would need to have been 700 there for the 7 who actually did shoot to have made the bad-apple content be just 1% of the force, statistically. But I’d bet there were a lot fewer than 700, meaning, the bad-apple fraction is very much more than 1%. If it’s 10% or 99% I don’t know, but it sure isn’t 1%.

We all have the opportunity for a family.
Some people just are not willing to put in the blood, sweat and tears necessary.
Families are something that you build and it is not easy. Finding the right person and then keeping them is a lot of work. You add kids into the mix and the work piles up.
This guy seems to think that families just fall out of the sky like raindrops and if one person has some it means someone else couldn't have any.

And the police officers involved in the shooting of the pick up with the newspaper deliverers have been suspended and I believe at least one has resigned.
Your post suggests that you think that ALL police do this SALLthe time. My experience is indeed different than that.
My question to you would be....with a murderous psychopath on the loose how long should you wait before you shot?
I would wait awhile before I shot at least a full magazine at a pickup with 2 totally unconnected women. Should you view that any other way I hope you fail the “background check” should it come to pass.

As an aside, please notice that although police are not bodyguards, and owe no protection to individuals at all (as decided in multiple court cases), they nevertheless do provide bodyguard services to their own, a further indication of the us-vs.-them mentality, or to put it another way, the caste system. I don't think caste systems work especially well even in India, but I certainly don't want one here, and don't think one is even possible under a system that champions individual liberty and sovereignty. Do you? But yet, that's what we have now - a class of people who are immune from various laws, and immune from prosecution under other laws. Anyone else wouldn't be "suspended" for shooting up a pickup truck - we'd probably be in solitary, and looking at decades behind bars.
