This is my first thread. I'm only posting it to see if any other FReeper had the same experience today, yesterday, or maybe tomorrow.
Today, all three of the websites I routinely log into that require a password (including FR) returned an error message, saying that I needed to re-enter the password because it was incorrect.
Now, one website I could put down to typing error. Two, maybe bad typing still. Three, seems suspicious to me. These are websites I log into every day. On all three I happened to mis-type the password in one day out of thousands? I'm suspicious.
Well, maybe it's possible, but if it happens to anyone else, keep it in mind. And let me know. Thanks.
Do you think there’s some kind of hidden sympbolism behind this?

Sometimes, a bunch of cookies expire together, logging you out of multiple websites. I have noticed this too occasionally.
Maybe you have a key sticking so you think you are typing it right but something isn’t entering.
Did you do the recent Microsoft updates recently?
I did yesterday.
My FR browser is IE based and some of the updates were for IE. I had to re-log in on my laptop today. I assume that is the reason.
No, silly: I’m imagining an easy code someone could write, that, once on your computer, can get you to provide your password once again for them by mimicing that particular website’s error page.
Website login status is usually stored in “cookie” files in the web browser temporary folder. Did you accidentally or purposefully delete your browser history (cookies included)? Cookies do expire too.
Did you clear your browser cache....that will usually remove cookies, and you will have to login the next time you visit any site.

This loss of stored passwords can happen on a Windows machine if you clean the registry.
Are you SURE that’s all you’re imagining...hmmmm?
It’s W’s fault.
Do you have a “pay-for” firewall and virus/malware protection?
Double post three minutes apart. Dude - yer ‘puter is haunted. Call Ghostbusters - stat.
Did you watch Obama last night?
Whoops - I double-posted because I didn’t see my reply to #3 appear right away. I wasn’t replying to the later suggestions.
No, I didn’t clear my cookies, but:
Yes, I did let Windows update itself yesterday; and maybe I do have a key sticking.
These are good suggestions. Thanks!
Caps lock key?
But that would only explain the first site. So, it must be your typing.
Or did you mean only that you were required to log in unexpectedly? That would be explained by your having cleaned out your cookies or switched to a new browser and / or computer.
Also, some sites expire cookies after a while and require you to re-login. E.g., banks and brokerages will expire you after some minutes of inactivity. And Google requires you to re-login every couple of weeks.
And calling another FReeper “silly” could be interpreted as accusing him of being gay. I’d watch it.
I think you’ve lost your cookies.
