Liberal Education - Rotten To The Core
Political Realities ^ | 03/04/13 | LD Jackson

Have you ever stopped to wonder why conservative ideology is having such a hard time gaining traction with our younger generations? Many of you will know where I am headed with this, but I believe it is time we took a long and hard look at the education system in this country. Could it be we have abdicated our rights as parents and leaders of our community to educate our children as we see fit? It may be happening in places where we would least expect it.

Let us take a look at an example from Michelle Malkin, in the most unlikely of states.

(Human Events) Texas is a right-minded red state, where patriotism is still a virtue and political correctness is out of vogue. So how on earth have left-wing educators in public classrooms been allowed to instruct Lone Star students to dress in Islamic garb, call the 9/11 jihadists “freedom fighters” and treat the Boston Tea Party participants as “terrorists”?

Here’s the dirty little secret: Despite the best efforts of vigilant parents, teachers and administrators committed to academic excellence, progressive activists reign supreme in government schools.

That’s because curriculum is king. The liberal monopoly on the modern textbook/curricular market remains unchallenged after a half-century. He who controls the textbooks, teaching guides and tests controls the academic agenda.

That is how the propagandistic outfitting of students in Islamic garb came to pass in the unlikely setting of the conservative Lumberton, Texas, school district. As Fox News reporter Todd Starnes noted this week, a 32-year veteran of the high school led a world geography lesson on Islam in which hijab-wrapped students were banned from using the words “suicide bomber” and “terrorist” to describe Muslim mass murderers in favor of the term “freedom fighter.”

Madelyn LeBlanc, one of the students in the class, “told Fox News that it was clear her teacher was very uncomfortable lecturing the students. ‘I do have a lot of sympathy for her. … At the very beginning, she said she didn’t want to teach it, but it was in the curriculum.’”

But the headline-grabbing injection of moral equivalence into social studies and American history is just the tip of the education iceberg.

Liberal EducationI have at least two regular readers who live in Texas and are very proud of their state, as they should be. I am very interested in hearing their perspective on this issue. This post is not a slam to Texas, but rather a word of warning to the wise. The liberals have bragged about how they intended to turn Texas from red to blue, or at least purple. Many have laughed at that suggestion, but given that the education system is being taken over by progressives who are as liberal as they come, it may not be so far-fetched. I would urge you to read the entire article by Michelle Malkin. What she reveals is disturbing and troublesome. It should serve as a warning to those of us who believe our states are immune from the disease of liberalism.

Our two daughters were homeschooled. It was not an easy task, especially for my wife, as she was the one who did most of the teaching. We are not, however, sorry for the choice we made to keep our daughters out of public school. Even here in Oklahoma, in a small town where you would think conservative values would reign supreme, liberalism was already advancing its agenda. Our small public school was full of homosexuals and other perverted behaviors and we wanted our daughters to have nothing to do with such things. That's one of the main reasons we taught them ourselves.

This is also one of the main reasons why it is so important for parents and grandparents to become involved on the local level. We may believe we are safe from the advance of liberalism, but that isn't necessarily the case. If we do not hold watch over the small things that are controlled locally, we can not hope to stop the big things that slip in and are controlled from Washington. It is also why it is so important for local parents, teachers, etc., to exert control over what happens in the public schools and why the Department of Education should be closed down permanently. Liberal bureaucrats in Washington have no business telling us what our children should be taught.

You expect government schools do actaully teach something useful or to brainwash kids into believing in socialism/liberalism? of course the latter. ]

abolish government schools now

then get rid of the EPA

repeat with the thousands of other gov agencies at all levels of government. then the only real problem we'd have is the news media. government and the media are the only real problems we have not the made up bs like the “fiscal cliff”, sequester , global warming hoax etc.

guess we all survived the stupid sequester now cut more

My stock reply to all government school threads.

The “public school”, including the “charter school”, is BY FAR, the largest, most expensive, most subversive, and most destructive entitlement program in the country.

The “public school” is better understood as the “government school collective”.

It is silly to imagine that you can fix the public schools, because the very concept itself is collectivist.

Any child that comes out of the government school collective with their moral compass and common sense intact does so in spite of the government school indoctrination, not because of it.

To understand the content and compass of modern education, see ...
http://www.scribd.com/doc/54400125/Change-Agents-in-the-Schools-Barbara-Morris-1979

If you want to win the culture war, have lots of children (see my tagline) and homeschool them or form your own school cooperative with your church or synagogue and like-minded friends and relatives.

Nobody loves your children more than you do.

Nobody can teach your children better than you can.

Nobody knows your children better than you do.

Your children would love nothing better than to be taught by you, if you start doing so before they are corrupted by the government school collective.

It is hypocritical for you to submit your children to an authority with whom you fundamentally disagree. And your children will know it.

If you have children, make whatever sacrifices you must to get them out of the public schools.

DO NOT FEED THE BEAST!

Especially not with your own children.

And DO NOT TAKE GOVERNMENT “EDUCATION” MONEY!

He that pays the piper calls the tune, and that’s especially true for any government entitlement program.

While the Founders risked everything from life, property and liberty to create this country, we now find ourselves with generations of people who will not invest some of their time and maybe some of their dollars to keep their kids out of government schools.

I have posted here numerous times that it is insane to not only be forced to fund these brainwashing centers with our tax dollars but we seem to willingly hand over our most precious possession, our children’s minds to the commie union run government indoctrination centers.

Again a challenge to all Conservatives.

1) If you have the time, home school. BEST POSSIBLE CHOICE!

2) Or, if you have the money, a private school grounded in the founders ideals.

3) Or, as a last option, a Charter school more in line with your thinking.

4) Do what you are doing now and guarantee this country will be consumed by the communists hiding behind the Progressive label.

It’s your choice! IMO, never let your child/grandchild slip into the clutches of those who are actively working to defeat you. Otherwise I only have one question! Are you freaking nuts?

I just posted this on another thread..

My own sons recently went through college and came home with views that are vastly different than they were when they left home.. They both told me that the overwhelming, and sole views being accepted in higher education forbids any countervailing attitudes toward Gay, Abortion, Cultural and Religion, will be met with scorn and or banishment..

This punishment was liberally dealt out by the entire academic community, but most surprising of all, was the vehement rejection of any level of civility, and morality, that came from the women and girls in their classes.. The decay that we find in our culture has a foothold in the females among us..

The former buttress within a family against the unholy, our former gatekeepers, are now becoming the perpetrators of evil that has overtaken the culture, and will ultimately signal our decline..

We men are becoming weak and without shame.. Men are not at all blameless, and equally at fault, but the single thread that held the fabric of our society together, were and continues to be, our Mothers.. If and apparently when this seam fails, so well we all...
