Republicans Hit Judd Over Kentucky Residency (she lives in Tennessee)
Buzzfeed ^ | 3/08/13

**SNIP**

The email is designed to look like a fundraising pitch for Judd from Democrats.

"Ashley Judd needs your help. Despite the fact that she lives in Tennessee, Judd desperately wants to run for Senate in neighboring Kentucky. I know what you're thinking: how can a person who has said "Tennessee is home," that San Francisco is "my American city home" and that she "winters in Scotland" run for Senate in Kentucky?" the email reads.

"Well, that's where you come in.," it says. Littered with links to "donate" to Judd's campaign, the email also includes photos of the Versailles, Kentucky castle and urges donors to "donate $10,000, $25,000 or $50,000 we can start to piece together a down payment for a house that provides Judd all the amenities that she has grown accustomed to as she jets between Hollywood, Scotland, San Francisco and Tennessee."

Whatever happens it will be great for Ashley Juggs's career.

She is available for bachelor parties and other events.

The Constitution requires that a Senator be 30 years old, a U.S. citizen for 9 years, and “when elected...an inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.” So residence on election day is enough. More than that is up to the voters.

So why in Hades is she such a fan of UK Basketball?

She's an alumnae.

She did spend some time in KY growing up as well. Her family allegedly has "deep" roots to the state, as far back as the Civil War. Would be nice to find out that they were Confederates if not slave owners ... and watch some of her support peal off if she decides to apologize (or not apologize).

“...former Senator She Who Must Not Be Named, who hails from Chappaqua, NY...”

NO, please NO!!!!! She ‘hails’ from Chicago or from Arkansas. She and her fellow-grifter husband merely purchased a house in Chappaqua with the financing of native NYer, He Who Would Be Governor of Virginia.

that’s a very good point. Wonder how Kentuckians will feel about missing out on a crack at her 10s of millions in revenue for the past couple of decades

The bar for residency to be on the ballot is higher in Kentucky, but if she moves May 2013 a year before the primary should be long enough.

Remember when Alan Keyes moved to IL to run against Sen. Bammy? The leftist media and assorted drecks ruthlessly attacked him for it. Hypocrites to their core.

Anyone have links to those old quotes? Would be nice to stash them away for compare/contrast purposes ...

The Republicans would be well-advised to curtail the [irresistible] urge to bash Judd. In Kentucky, I think she will self-destruct on her own. No reason to make her a sympathetic figure.

Brad Woodhouse, spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, questioned the move.

“Nothing could bear out more the desperation of the Illinois Republican Party like having to go recruit a person from Maryland to run for a U.S. Senate seat in Illinois, someone who is clearly out of step with the moderate views of Illinois voters and families,” he said.

Hillary did it. She moved to New York to barely meet the qualifications

IIRC Clinton flew over NY a few times before she became the Senator from NY.

“Kentucky’s Individual Income Tax Law is based on the Internal Revenue Code in effect as of Dec. 31, 2006. The tax has graduated rates from 2 percent - 6 percent and allows itemized deductions and certain income reducing deductions as defined in KRS 141.010. .”

Tennessee has no income tax...

Great point. Where, tho, would she be paying taxes (or not paying them) on income earned from acting? In her state of residence, or the state in which she was working? Both?

I know there's a lot of complexity with people crossing state lines to work, with many adjoining states having reciprocity agreements ...

Yeah, but that's New York, not Kentucky. Hillary! immediately had NYC and downstate locked up, and just needed to peel off enough upstate voters in order to win. Then the GOP picked Lazio ...

I don't see Ashley strolling in and saying "Hi, I'm against coal, having children and owning guns. For years I've lived next door in order to avoid paying taxes. I'd like to be your next Senator, please vote for me?" and have it be a convincing argument for enough people outside of Progressive areas (like portions of Louisville) to vote for her.

Especially with Mitch McConnell lobbing fire at her the whole time.

Absolutely.
Her anti-coal stance is anathema.
Altghough the dumb sluts and “give-mes” want to vote for someone like her- they depend on the well paid coal miners to buy their food stamps so they can get cigarettes, liquor and pills!

I don't know if it is relevant but,
Ashley Judd looks a hell of a lot better naked that Mitch McConnell. And she hasn't been to shy about proving it. If elected, maybe......?
