What do Bill Kristol, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Karl Rove and other old, stale RINO hacks all have in common? They fear Rand Paul and the new generation of libertarian-conservatives or constitutional-conservative. Bill Kristol went on America Live with Megyn Kelly to whine about how ‘dangerous’ the ‘Neo-Isolationist’ Rand Paul is. Kristol also declared that Paul has no political future or something.

Spot on- I applaud Rand for soem htigns, while cringe at others- He was the ONLY one to make dear leader back down on missle drones- the only one who had enougbh backbone to take them on- but at the same time- he does have a very dangerous foreign affairs ideology- perhaps not as bad as his pop, but still dangeroA lot of rhinos bark loud, but tuck tasil when push coems to shove- but paul actuallty took bull by horns and forced a change- I’m not sayign we need paul but we NEED more with his backbone i nthe GOP because the GOP is FAILING Miserably!

Can’t fault you there- more andm ore fox news contributors and show hosts are falling in line behind dear leader these days- defendign him (while making it appear they are just being ‘fair and balanced’) and the right is slowly but surely losing hte one voice it had i nthe media— all the old ‘staunch republicans’ like kristol, krauthammer etc- seem to lean more andm ore left as tiem goes on

Funny how people take the label of “defense” so seriously. We used to call that executive department “war,” which had the drawback of being honest. You may believe in the thing called defense, either as it is or were there more. But it has little to do with actual defense, whatever it is.

Well, you've hit on all the issues that I've come to realize about Rand, i.e. sounding sort of Republican (conservative) with a bit of libertarian slant especially one that TEA Party folk like, just enough anti-establishment red meat to toss to those who either don't vote or register "independent" but don't often grace the voting booth, to generate enthusiasm.

I'm not going to count him out - yet - but Rand's trending toward daddy Ron's total Libertarian bent.

Ron ran as a Libertarian and should have in 2012 rather than taking up space on stage and mugging for the cameras and I'm strongly thinking that Rand is a chip off the old block!

If he is, then that term has no meaning. It’s sorta like how if you want to slow tge rate of gubmint growth, or God forbid actually cut gubmint spending, progressives will accuse you of vein an anarchist or turning the clock back to the 19th century. Or, on our side to be fair, when we accuse people who have gotten used to the Welfare State as it is of being communists. Fascists, maybe, though that term has been corrupted beyond use. This is all gross exaggeration.

By the way, I happened recently to read a few excerpts from Carroll Quigly’s “Tragedy and Hope,” which offers a glimpse at the inner workings of the Anglo-American Establishment cabal, tge banking and other sorts of super-rich family dynasties, you know, the Fed, the CFR, Bilderbergs, etc. Anyway, one of his favorite epithets is “neo-isolationist,” along with “petite bourgeois.” They were especially guilty for having backed Goldwater.

That should give you good context for Kristol’s comments.

Rand Paul is quite isolationist. He is to the Left of Obama on the war on terror.

I’ll simply direct to the omission of foreign policy in your statement.

Of course, you are correct in consequences. Isolationism usually results in war. So, in the realm of consequences of policy, I guess you are right. His policies may lead to war as they have in the past, specifically WWII.

It’s one thing to defend your nation, take out the bad guys and get out. It’s another to serve as social engineers with a military with the military as social workers. Soldiers are not social workers and they kill their enemies. Then they go home.
