Domestic animals in such stories were always wicked and dumb, while wild animals lived deep and spiritual lives out in the woods. And so the animal kingdom was subdivided into the noble savage and the uncle tom.

Yesterday Fox News had on a couple who were promoting their new book about "The Hidden Lives of Wolves"...

At one point they commented on the fact that wild wolves were "compassionate"...

Anthropomorphism gone amok...

And....Day by day, conservatives and Christians send their children into the government schools where they are preached this religion of evironmentalism.

A few Sunday's ago my husband and I were teaching the 5 year old Sunday School class. We asked the children, if they knew what a Commandment was. Their answer: Recycle! Reuse! Reduce!

These children are barely out of babyhood, and in just a few months of government kindergarten they already are learning the government sponsored and Marxist driven religion of environmentalism.

When I was a kid, I remember finding the story of the Israelites making the golden calf at the base of Mt. Sinai ridiculous. What a bunch of rubes these guys must have been to so quickly need to make a god for themselves when they lost faith in the God of their fathers.
Environmentalism is just another in a long line of golden calves.

My first clue that this year’s ‘earth hour’ was an even more pathetic bust than last year was when a quick scan of the usual news sources made absolutely no mention of it. This of course raised suspicions and sure enough, a quick scan of the electrical system operator’s website showed that at almost exactly 8:30 pm last night, the demand took a sudden increase….. eyeballing it looks like it went about 15% above the predicted demand curve. It looks like I wasn’t the only one doing my annual electrical stress test during this timeframe!

Many of these environmentalists are also dissemblers of first rank. I have a cousin who is a bleeding heart leftist (every family has one) and among other affiliations, a member of the Sierra Club. She has harangued members of the family unceasingly about issues near and dear to the Left since adulthood, especially waxing on the evils of big oil and gas- how they are ruining the pristine planet and consumed by greed. I don't believe she is animated by hostility toward humans per se; I think she would like to keep nature and humanity separate, believing good stewarship is incompatible with capitalistic inetrests.

But wait! Our Grandfather acquired thousands of acres of rural land in the 1930’s for timber. Last year after signing her mineral rights lease agreement with Big oil for her share of the property she retired. She is now a former anesthesiologist and current insufferable hypocrite and “artist”. Oh, and she lived and practiced in Detroit but since has relocated to state-tax-free Texas. When it comes down to brass tacks, people, even professed "liberals," act in their own self-interest. Push and prod any one of them and I think you'll see their true colors.

In regards to eco-fascists, I find it interesting, that if humans are so bad for the earth why don’t the eco-fascists kill themselves to protect “mother earth”, i.e. practice what they preach.

According to the WUWT blog, the picture below shows a satellite view at night of North Korea, the winner for Earth Hour in every year since 2003. Odds favor them to be the winner again this year. Earth Hour has been such a stunning success in North Korea, that it’s “always Earth Hour there”, according to Alan Caruba, who comments that “electricity is truly a gift of the gods. It is the difference between the Dark Ages and the present age.”
