Media Mash: John Ziegler's Interviews with NBC, CNN, and TMZ

After 14 months of focusing on Joe Paterno and PSU's alleged failures, when Ziegler attempts to finally defend Paterno, the media shifts their focus to the real culprit of the scandal -- Jerry Sandusky. Also, not testifying at trial is the new standard of guilt in America.

If you had any false hopes that the media would be willing to give Joe Paterno and PSU a fair hearing about the Sandusky Scandal, yesterday should have crushed those hopes.

John Ziegler appeared on The Today Show and on CNN's Piers Morgan. He also did several radio and phone interviews, of which I found the TMZ interview to be quite amusing.

Here's the deal.

After over a year of laying the wood to Paterno and Penn State, the media has finally discovered that it was some guy named Jerry Sandusky who was molesting children.

Not only that, but that Sandusky is so heinous an individual that the public should never hear from him again.

Yet, the hypocrites that feigned disgust at John Ziegler for giving Sandusky "oxygen" also were more than happy to play recordings of Sandusky, then feign more disgust at the recordings, and then castigate John for inflicting more pain on the victims.

It was a new low for "journalism" in America.

As John correctly pointed out, he had no control over major media outlets like CNN and NBC deciding to air the tapes. The bottom line is that CNN (6-10K more people attend a PSU home game than watch an episode Piers Morgan) and NBC are desperate for ratings and they jumped at the chance to give the public the chance to listen to a convicted and despised child molester.

Right now, Sandusky is #3 on the most hated list of people in America, trailing Casey Anthony and Kim Kardashian. He's one spot ahead of Bernie Madoff and two ahead of Michael Moore.

I'm kind of looking forward to the 2013 list and I'm guessing that Kenneth Frazier and Louis Freeh could make the top five if things go as I think they will. But I digress....

Here are the "lowlights" of yesterday's interviews.

TOPICS: Conspiracy; Education; Government
KEYWORDS: paterno; pennstate; sandusky
When John states the boy was 14, not ten, the hosts are completely baffled by the significance of the difference in age.

On the radio, Ziegler, claiming documentation to prove it, said that Victim #2 — the shower boy — came forward at the time of Paterno’s firing and said that nothing sexual ever happened between he and Sandusky, that he disagreed with McQueary’s statement, and told the police the same.

The police tried to get him to lie and accuse Sandusky so he could be used at trial, but he wouldn’t. He wrote letters to the media explaining this and the media refused to publish them. McQueary said he saw a 10 year old boy that night, but Victim #2 was actually 14 at the time and is currently 25/26 and a Marine with wife and kids.

Right. And the Catholic Church had no culpability in their priest scandals either.

Paterno, The University and Alumni all choose to ignored or covered up Sandusky's molestation history.

No sympathies for whole lot. ...not even sure why Ziegler is involved?

Just wonder how the media is going to handle the Paterno family winning their lawsuit against the NCAA....SCOTUS has already ruled in precedent that the NCAA has to use due process when punishing coaches (Tarkanian v NCAA).....any 1st yr journalism student could research that one

The media gets it wrong...often deliberately....on these media driven cases.....George Zimmerman big example
