DUmmie FUnnies 04-01-13 (Video Warning to DUMmies: Don't Smoke Ganja In Jamaica)
DUmmie FUnnies ^ | April 1, 2013 | PJ-Comix

On Saturday I got my new plaything...an LG Motion cell phone with 1080 HD video camera. This is opening up a whole new world for me which means I will be doing a lot of videos for the DUmmie FUnnies in the future. For example, I will interview anybody I see wearing a Che Guevara T-Shirt. Also would like to interview Goth chicks so they can explain the Goth philosophy for us. Too bad OWS Fort Lauderdale is no longer around because the DUmmies there would make for great (meaning hilarious) interviews but I am sure I still find plenty of DUmmies to interview for this blog. Today I was sort of experimenting around and decided to provide a public service for DUmmies DUmb enough to visit Jamaica and smoke ganja. As you can see, the Jamaican guys in the VIDEO are warning that is a BAD idea unless you are willing to pay big bucks to stay out of jail.

BTW, this is the industrial park area where I used to go every Friday to eat jerk chicken and pork. Unfortunately, the local authorities shut down that operation which was run by my friend Carlton but I still stop by a lot to visit like today.

A fringe benefit is that I perform the "Underneath The Ganja Tree" song. Is my singing voice not as mellifluous as that of Mario Lanza?

Effa bunch of ganja.
Are there any cuban sangwiches to be had in the area?

BTW, you can also upload vids to YouTube as well.

If you don’t have a YT account, it’s easy to sign up for one and upload vids.

You can then post the links here of hysterical lefties for all of us to enjoy.

One thing I noticed about the camera and the vid camera is that playback on the phone is of lower quality then if viewing on your PC.

I tried that. Didn't work for me. Maybe better to just automatically upload to PhotoBucket so I can edit it later. Oh, and another feature I love on the LG Motion is the alarm clock flipover feature. I used to hate the alarm on my previous cellphone because it was difficult to turn OFF when you are sleepy in the morning. I set the alarm for 6 AM for my wife and the difficulty before of turning it off made it hard for me to return to sleep. This morning when the alarm went off, I merely flipped the cell phone over and the alarm was OFF and I went right back to sleep.

An accessory for you might want to consider is a flexible silicon case and a neck cord. I put the little string thru the camera hole and over the top and just hang it from my neck. This is a good setup because I don't want to put the cellphone in my pocket where the screen could get scratched. Also it allows me quick access to the phone when I get calls as well as quick access to the camcorder when I need to record fast.

While viewing/reviwing a recorded vid, hit the Menu button and then “Share” and select “YouTube”

I would not want my videos loaded automatically. No no no. Not that I make questionable videos, just saying....

I don’t mind them being uploaded to PhotoBucket because from there I can share later. I did that this morning when I took a pic of a duck out back. The lazy ducks hang out here all summer because they can’t be bothered to exert themselves by migrating north.

I checked today at MetroPCS but they told me no rebate. However, I am having a blast with the phone. I love using both video and regular camera. I am concentrating on taking uplifting photos of South Florida. Here is one such uplifting photo taken about an hour ago:

Sorry about the no rebate, but don’t feel bad as I paid $150 for mine, plus tax and activation and it was still a good deal IMO

A few months later, it dropped down to $49.00 after rebate and before taxes.

As much as I liked the phone, when the LG Spirit came out, I salivated over it for 2 months and finally pulled the trigger on it right after my birthday and right before the rebate ended.

BTW, great pic quality. The camera on this phone does it’s best outdoors in natural lighting.

If you don’t have a Micro SD card to expand your storage which you will probably need if taking a lot of HD vids, 16GB or 32GB Micro SD cards are inexpensive (www.newegg.com) - also another thing you can’t do with an iPhone - expand the storage.

Enjoy your new phone. I enjoyed mine but had to upgrade to its “Big Brother” due to my old eyes.

Since my videos upload automatically to PhotoBucket, after I confirm that they are uploaded I just delete from my camera. That way I don't take up a lot of space on my Micro SD card.

Good thinking. You can also move them to your PC

Every day, you will find a cool new feature on this phone.

Enjoy!

The big thing I’m worried about now is the data bandwidth limit. I have the $40 plan so the limit is 500 MB, right? After 5 days I already have 214 MB used according to the stats I saw on my phone. Sooooo... once I hit 500 MB do they knock me from 4G to 3G? For me that mainly would mean my pics and videos would automatically upload slower to PhotoBucket and I can live with that. Or will there be other problems?
