At a speech this morning at the White House to outline a new science initiative, President Barack Obama named himself "Scientist-in-Chief."
"I’m glad I’ve been promoted Scientist-in-Chief," Obama said to laughter at the White House. "Given my grades in physics, I’m not sure it’s deserving. But I hold science in proper esteem, so maybe that gives me a little credit."

Do not mistake your high school physics teacher for a physicist, nor high school physics for physics. Do you understand general relativity, (or even 2nd Lt relativity) or four dimensional non-euclidean geometry?
Most of the “progressive” I’ve encountered did poorly in science classes and, if they went to college at all, they majored in some pseudo-science, such as psychology, sociology, women’s’ studies, ethnic studies, education, english or some other lightweight liberal arts program.
Meanwhile, REAL scientists are working 80 hours a week for a crappy wage to study topics that would melt the brains of 99% of the population...

Most graduate students and professors in the hard sciences are lefties. It’s a corn pone opinion, they are recipients of government favors and are afraid that if we cut off the tap for the soft sciences, their fire hose of government money will also be reduced to a trickle.
Which is why many capable (I will not “good”) scientists vehemently defend anthropogenic global warming theory. It’s group solidarity, identification with the smart set, who are always right.
Average progressives don’t love science or even understand science, but as someone who has been around scientists most of my adult life, they do tend to be obnoxious leftists.
