You might find some first term elected still not corrupted. But beyond that the rest are likely blackmailed into submission. They can't have certain criminal or immoral acts made public. There's also the Power aspect. Some are in office solely to hold power and they'll do anything to anybody to keep it or obtain it. True to Constitution and Country amongst our elected leaders are few and far between.
