I call myself right-wing. My GOP friends I’m proud to call Republicans as it’s 1000 times better than being called democrat...

LOL, I was thinking Ron Paul. He says crazy stuff, and will only get worse with age. Maybe Alex Jones, he’s bonkers and entertaining.

Alex Jones as VP! ~ Now that would be something to see & hear! :)

Though you might want to watch Ron Paul's Farewell Address, it's very good and might even do something to soften your harsh opinion of him.

"Don't call me a Republican," Cain said. "Here's why I'm making the distinction. If I allow somebody to label me a Republican, then they're going to drag up all of the negative perceptions of other Republicans – of dumb things they've said."

true, but let's remember which party gave us:

"In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever"

And for an EBT card they now vote 97% Dem.

Republicans apparently stand for increased revenues, gay marriage, gay troops, illegal immigration, and aristocracy.

I’m not a republican.

If they run someone who is conservative, then I’ll support the conservative.

He isn’t setting in motion a prejudice against Republicans.

Republicans are doing just fine doing that themselves.

We have been sold out by the Senior Republican Politicians.

Politicians who have sucked off the Government for far too long and become part of the Washington problem.

People like McCain.

I’m a Republican. A bunch of people elected as R’s however are not.

Herman Cain insisted Monday he does not want to be called Republican for fear of being saddled with the "dumb things" Republicans have said in the past.

Can't say I blame him:

I’m in agreement here. The “party” apparatchik doesn’t look much like what I am. And I don’t like labels, either. Republicans haven’t shown me much as a party over the last 5 years. There ARE conservative party members, though..and I have to agree with Herman on this. I also see that the name/label has been branded/vilified well by the Left and appealing to the Conservative principles common in most is an avenue worth Herman is a marketer..and if ABC gets the ball rolling, then go for it.

I really liked him in the race. I thought he had original, fresh ideas, a good nature, a sense of humor and positive energy. He’d need a lot more to be President..but I was sure willing to take a chance on him. I’m thankful he’s still in the public eye.

I just started to watch it. I don’t dislike him, I just disagree with his foreign policy. I think there is a middle ground. It isn’t nation building or isolationism. I think we should be somewhere in between. I would rather have voted for Paul than McCain.

As for Jones, I don’t think he really believes everything he says. I think he caters to his conspiratorial audience.

When a reporter reminded Cain he actually ran as a Republican in last year's presidential race, Cain bristled. "I did," he insisted. "This is my point. You can be conservative, and run as a Republican…you might be able to be a conservative and run on some Democratic ticket in some races."

You MIGHT be able to but the DNC chiefs aren't going to let you sit on any panels. You'd be in Congress as benchwarmer to help them achieve a majority leadership position.

More likely, you'd be up against a Socialist-1968revolution Democrat. The other kind of Democrat has infested the GOP as RINOs (in addition to the GOP-Elite).

But at some point, more conservative candidates need to be running in the Democrat Party so two can play at this game.

Did Cain finally release the proof that his investigators were developing to prove those women alleging sexual affairs with him were paid liars?

I just started to watch it. I don’t dislike him, I just disagree with his foreign policy.

You know, on a tangent, that's the lamest excuse people would put up for why he would be a bad president. The whole point of having congress involved in the selection of cabinet-members is to temper things like the foreign-policy.

I think there is a middle ground. It isn’t nation building or isolationism. I think we should be somewhere in between. I would rather have voted for Paul than McCain.

You and me both.

As for Jones, I don’t think he really believes everything he says. I think he caters to his conspiratorial audience.

Probably; which is why I don't listen to him -- I'll admit that I do find conspiracies interesting, and some compelling: certain events/situations are best explained in conspiracy. The complete stonewalling of any challenge to Obama's legitimacy in the judiciary, for one. Benghazi and Fast & Furious for another two (the utter lack of vigor in investigating/prosecuting these is starkly telling, IMO).

On your first point, I disagree with Paul with regards to foreign policy. But as you point out that’s what more reasonable cabinet members are for. I’m totally against nation building, especially in Muslim hell holes.

Jones is crazy enough to be taken as fictional entertainment. People get mad over his truther views, which is definitely understandable. I rarely ever hear him, but if I do I treat him as a loon for entertainment.

Well, Cain does now apparently advocate the creation of a conservative third party as an alternative to the GOP which is a productive first step. Although I’m not sure how he is going to make it happen and predicting that his candidate, Ben Carson, would be embraced by the Republicans doesn’t really help.
