AZ:Phoenix Anonymous Donor Funds 18 May Turn In with Another $100K! Another Rolling Gun Show!

Some guns that went past private buyers and were turned in at the Phoenix events

Yes, you do see a stainless mini-14 with a folding stock, an M1 carbine, a utility double, and many more. Just short of a thousand were turned in.

Another mysterious source comes up with $100K to further fund gun turn in events in Phoenix this Saturday, May 18th.

The hours have changed to 0900 - 1300. Private buyers have made amazing deals at these events during the last two weekends, and some fantastic firearms have been turned in, in spite of dozens of private buyers offering cash instead of gift cards. Here are the three locations:

Southminster Presbyterian 1923 East Broadway Road

Betania Presbyterian 2811 North 39th Avenue

Sunnyslope Mennonite Church 9835 North 7th Street

The Mennonite Church is the most upscale, Betania Presbyterian the most modest, though last weekend it was the only location and therefore a hotspot. Southminster Presbyterian was in between.

Last Saturday was an amazing event. I did not think I would ever see another, yet here is another opportunity.

Those pictures are amazing, especially that Marlin 990 in unfired condition. I didn’t know that factoid about it being discontinued because of NJ law. I love the closing comment from the mayor with his shorts in a knot over the recent law change. The photo of what actually made it past the cash buyers makes me sad, though.

Wow. “just under a thousand” huh? What a success. At this rate they’ll get rid of all those pesky barely functioning/inoperable guns that gangbangers use in like 175+ years.

Gun Shows really need to start advertizing that they are also “Gun Turn In” sights, where people can turn in unwanted firearms for market value.

I was just reading that .22 semi-autos that hold more than 15 rounds are still considered assault weapons in New Jersey.

The 990 holds 18 long rifle cartridges.

“During the late-1980s, the capacity of the rifle was reduced to a 15 round maximum limit, to meet New Jersey’s firearms law for semi-automatic assault weapons. For a few years in the mid-1980s the Model 60 rifles had both the “last shot hold open” feature and also held 18 rounds in the tube magazine.”

I wonder if the “anonymous” donor is Bloomberg.

It could be Soros...

Or it could be Basha, of Basha Foods. I would think they would want “recognition” for it though...

Would that be Edward Basha III? Eddie Basha passed away a while back.

Thanks for the update. I did not know that Eddie Basha Jr. died at the end of March, a month and a half ago.
