I think you forgot to mention that two others lobbyist are demanding that they removed God from the Boy Scout oath...
I’m sure there have been Gay Scouts, just as there have always been gays in the military....that’s not the point.
The point is, once you allow open gays in, they will come in, and will demand the organization accommodates their culture.
I’m sure there have been gay Scouts, and maybe even some Gay Scout parent leaders who were closeted and otherwise were exemplary Scouts....but that was because they still subscribed to the Scout culture, without demanding it change for them.
Now, all bets are off.
The Boy Scouts have left me. And I would strongly resist any efforts to have any grandson of mine to ever participate in what can only become a vile institution.

There are alternatives and my wife and I are researching them to move our two cubs. Our oldest Eagled last year and his cousin, who also Eagled, has a job this summer at Philmont. He went ahead and traveled with a friend to camp/work, but they are demoralized. We are demoralized.

Why did “sex” have to be a part of scouting??? We never asked our Scouts their orientation. We didn’t want to know. We just wanted the kids and young men build their character, their life skills and to have good clean fun. Why did the left have to destroy that? Why do they have to be so perverted?
So, they reveal their goal - they’re still mad because homos aren’t going to be allowed to go camping with young boys.
To me, the Boy Scouts have just proven the wisdom of my father’s favorite quote, “You are only enslaved to the extent of the charity you receive.”
This was all about the big donors who threatened to drop the Scouts if they didn’t cow-tow to the gay mafia.
This was a stupid move, as the Supreme Court had already ruled that the scouts was a private organization.
Maybe if the scouts had received the visual, and monetary, support from the general public - a la Chick Fil A - they could have weathered the storm. Now, the gays have a precedence of overcoming private organizations, what next?
At this point, the BSA should rescind their recent vote, and stand firm.

The Boy Scouts are done... While I am sure some of the more liberal denominations will continue support, they are going to lose support from most of the orgs that sponsor them.
I was involved in scouting, I am well aware of what some homosexual boys have done to other boys when they have had the chance. Let alone the fact that the first openly gay scout that turns 18 and wants to be in a leadership role but is denied will start this same nonsense all over again.
I’ve never seen such a self destructive action by an organization in my life.

My son became a Life scout over the weekend and I hope his troop lasts the summer for him to get his Eagle.
After that, we’re done with Scouts.
