Who the Heck is Gallup Polling? Poll Shows Obama Approval Up 11%, Drastically Opposing Other Polls
Pundit Press ^ | 6/28/13 | Aurelius

Since June 24, there have been five major polls released on President Obama's approval rating. All except one showed more people disapprove of Mr. Obama's performance than those who approve. Of those polls, the closest Approval/Disapproval spread for the President was negative six; that is, six percent more people disapproved of Mr. Obama than approved.

In fact, that poll, conducted by The Economist/YouGov, was Mr. Obama's strongest performance, save one poll. The others, conducted by Reuters, Fox News, and Rasmussen, showed the President at, respectively, -7, -8, and -8.

And then you have Gallup, which has the President at +7. That's 13 points away from the closest poll since June the 24th. In fact, on June 23, Gallup had the President down four percent, with an approval rate of 45% and a disapproval rate of 49%. That's an 11 point swing.

In trying to piece together how the Gallup could get such vastly different numbers, I looked at who they polled. First, their questionnaire was anonymous. Rasmussen polled likely voters, while Fox and YouGov polled registered voters. However, Reuters polled anonymously as well, so that alone as a factor is out.

I think it was gay marriage. Americans really, really love gay marriage.

Didn’t they get a Chicago-style phone call last year about their polling?

Gallup is polling “national adults” — I think the others are polling registered voters.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/125729/Obama-Job-Approval-Weekly.aspx

“Gallup tracks daily the percentage of Americans who approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as president. Weekly results are based on telephone interviews with approximately 3,500 national adults; Margin of error is ±2 percentage points. “

Øbama's approval tanked on Rasmussen today. Granted, that's a three-day average, so I wonder it Gallup is an instantaneous one.

Will be interesting to see what his monthly average approval will be on Monday.

no such thing as gay marriage, they might call it that but their sham of a homosexual marriage might have been done in CA because they lost and then went judge shopping but alas have they thought of themselves as normal while most ion their state think of themselves as mental nuts.

Also polls are crap because there is no one I know anymore who still thinks of Obama as good, hell even my MIL from MA the most life long Dem voters can’t stand the man

It could be the question they ask.

Do you support Obama leaving the country?

Maybe the 11% approve of him leaving to Africa, not knowing he’s coming back.

Polls always the same, as the Marxist in Chief pisses on our heads and blames the rain on the republicans.

I am SOOOOOoo beyond polls.

Best poll in the land is ammunition sales. This Nation is preparing for war. What do you think an over the top offended American that has been buying bullets to fight the HLS is going to say in a phone poll?

For the record, I DO NOT think a civil war is a good idea. Been there done that in Israel. WAR SUCKS. But just like Israel, it only takes one side to make war. And HLS sure seems to be interested in that idea.

I don’t think they will like it as much as they think.

Americans will defend themselves, and their neighbors of like mind cause that is what has made America tick for its entire history. Whole lot of Rabble gonna die on both sides.

Then Russia and China will move in.

Obama is playing a losers hand. He will succeed in destroying Americas freedom, but only because we threw it away valuing our freedom to sin over our love of God.

Obama is just a tool. We need to get our values straight.

It will work well. But then God is wise isn’t he?

He probably is up by 11. At least he would still win if the election was scheduled for tomorrow. So many faux disppointees are getting exactly what they voted for and would so vote again if given the chance.

Worse, so many people who claim to have opposed him, such as Marco Rubio suddenly found religion and supported him to the nth degree.

He might even win by a bigger margin today.

Maybe I just moved into Limbaugh's town of Realville.

Polls are yawners. When polls that count start brushing aside these people who hate the United States, then Realville can become a ghost town. Today I just don't see it.

That’s important because Gallup and Rasmussen were the two worst pollsters last cycle. ROTFLMAO For the record Gallup uses a 4 day rolling average

no such thing as gay marriage
And there's some homosexuals who have the intellectual honesty to realize this, that "gay" marriages do not make sense just by the very nature of a "gay" relationship. They'd be happy with some sort of civil union. Gay marriages are a bad idea, especially when recognized by any gov't entity, but the libertarian in me doesn't give a rat's a** who sleeps with who as long as kids are left alone.

Ragnar54 ~:” Didn’t they get a Chicago-style phone call last year about their polling? “

I beleive that is correct.
I imagine this poll was prompted by a notice from the IRS indicating an audit which would continue until they found something illegal, or unsavory.
That wouldn’t surprise me in the least !

Every time they call our home for a poll they always ask for the youngest person in the household. When I ask them if they will take my input, no matter what my age they confess they will throw out my response if they already have a lot of respondents from my age group (who still have land lines). Given the fact that a lot of young people don’t even watch the news (witness the Zimmerman trial testimony this week) why do we pay any attention at all to the polls? This is nothing but a farce.

FReepers can recite Bible and verse the inherent fallacies associated with polls. However we refuse to believe the progressives are in process of winning over the national psyche. Conservative and libertarian ideas may now be in the minority (again we know the reasons). Obama is well on his way towards his promised transformation of America. Ozzie and Harriet are vanishing from the American scene. Demographics are destiny. Short of violence, how do we fight back and regain the momentum when we are outnumbered?
