I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin' "Don't blame me"
They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin' sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma's too thin; your daddy's too fat
Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it
You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if I gave you some cash
The more I think about it, Old Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers, kill 'em tonight
You don't want to work, you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn't owe you a thing
Get over it
Get over it
If you don't want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, Get over it
It's like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You're makin' the most of your losin' streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak
You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin' everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick its little ass
Get over it
Get over it
All this bitchin' and moanin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it
Get over it
Get over it
It's gotta stop sometime, so why don't you quit
Get over it, get over it
I know the Eagles are probably extreme libs who are among the biggest supporters of Obamugabe in the world, but hey, their song really seems to fit the bill.
He was in concert in my area and I went to see him. Sold out show. After about twenty minutes I went to the ticket office and told them I wanted my money back. I had paid to listen to a concert not the DNC talking points. By the size of the line that was forming I was not the only one.
He hasn't been back.
Don't know about Frey.
Thnks 4 heads up
They don’t get it so they can’t get over it.
Stuck on stupid.
Oingo Boingo and Danny Elfman got it right, too:
There’s nothing wrong with Capitalism
There’s nothing wrong with free enterprise
Don’t try to make me feel guilty
I’m so tired of hearing you cry
There’s nothing wrong with making some profit
If you ask me I’ll say it’s just fine
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to live nice
I’m so tired of hearing you whine
About the revolution
Bringin’ down the rich
When was the last time you dug a ditch, baby?
If it ain’t one thing
Then it’s the other
Any cause that crosses your path
Your heart bleeds for anyone’s brother
I’ve got to tell you you’re a pain in the ass
You criticize with plenty of vigor
You rationalize everything that you do
With catchy phrases and heavy quotations
And everybody is crazy but you
You’re just a middle class, socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And you tell me that we’ve got to get back
To the struggling masses (whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain
What the *hell* do you know about suffering and pain?
There’s nothing wrong with Capitalism(x3)
Amen, I was watching the protesters and all I could think was, “Get over yourselves!” It just sickens me. I was a supporter of the civil rights movement. Now I’m just angry at their stupidity and they get no sympathy from me. They’ve succeeded in destroying all the gains made in that era.
MLK must be rolling over in his grave.
I had the same experience with Roger Waters. Lesson learned.
That said, a blind squirrel finds a nut, and a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Henley got it right on this, at least.
He did the same thing several years ago at a concert in Irvine, CA. He started his liberal crap and everyone booed. He just leaned back and said, "Oh, that's right, this is Orange County". Then he shut up and finished the concert without any more liberal drivel.
Laura Ingraham I believe wrote a book titled “Shut up and sing” a few years ago. This is a book that the members of The Eagles should read and take to heart. Great music, super harmonies, and melodies out the wazoo. Politically they are a huge letdown, but that’s the norm with California stars.
“Don’t know about Frey.”
He’s a lib, too. The main reason Don Felder was cut from the band was because Frey felt Don wasn’t polite to Sen. Alan Cranston at a benefit. This per an interview with Frey on pay cable a couple nights.
