The Egyptian government has pledged to rebuild the churches. And don’t forget that the US installed “Islamic democracies” in the two places we controlled, Iraq and Afghanistan, boh of which have constitutions stating that nothing shall disagree with Islamic law. And we approved them, even though many parties there asked us not to do so. But we wanted to prove that we loved Islam.
I think a lot of people, such as the Egyptians, having seen how well the US idea of the “Islamic democracy” worked out - sharia, bombings, oppression and economic dysfunctionality - have changed their minds.
Obama, of course, is still on the side of the MB. It’s only luck and perhaps some rational person in the WH that have kept him from openly supporting them.
There is no Egyptian government; just military rule and the military’s appointed puppet government. The appointed governmental rulers are themselves radicals. Pledges to rebuild churches that didn’t have to be destroyed in the first place are hollow.
If anyone thinks I agree with what we did in Iraq and Afghanistan in terms of setting up their new governments, please do not be mistaken about the reverse being the case. Much of Iraq’s constitution was recycled from Saddam’s, and the new Islamic Republic of Iraq regards Israel as their number-one enemy in the region. Karzai’s “governance” is all about reconciliation with (essentially) his former employer, the Taliban.t have to be destroyed in the first place are hollow.
