House Forms Its Own Bipartisan Gang to Push Amnesty

Rep. John Carter (R-TX) told constituents this week that the House has formed its own bipartisan group to push amnesty. Carter says he is a member of the group. KDH News reported:

U.S. Rep. John Carter, R-Round Rock, held a news conference Monday on the subject of immigration reform.

Carter spoke to members of the media at the Central Texas Council of Governments building in Belton after a meeting with representatives from area businesses and leaders of local evangelical churches. Both groups, Carter said, had questions about legislative efforts to reform the country’s immigration system.

“We have some problems to work out in this area,” said Carter, who serves as the chairman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee. “We’ve been talking about possible solutions.”

Carter’s appearance in Belton comes after members of the U.S. Senate passed an immigration reform bill in July.

Speaking Wednesday, Carter said he believed the Senate bill would not pass in the House, and mentioned his work with a bipartisan group of members to create their own immigration reform legislation.

Carter said the group set out to create comprehensive immigration legislation that addresses multiple areas of the issue.

Great. And once the House passes its bill and the legislation goes to conference – amnesty is passed. Nice work, Republicans.

“Round Rock, Texas.... Might as well be a Democrat.”

Yet he’s been made chairman of a subcommittee. Wonder how that happened. Of course I know!

Carter made the announcement on Monday. It's now Wednesday. Is he still alive, or did his constituents hang him? (as they ought to)

Hmmm...Trying to think of where this crew got the idea that no matter how liberal they got that people would still vote for them.

Yup. It’s a mystery.

Pushing for amnesty is about the most shortsighted position a repub could make. Yes, it might buy a few extra votes in the near term, but that party will screw itself in the long run.

Dont bet the first born on that. Take a cruise through FR, Rightest of the Right and read for yourself how many excuses are made daily for why we have to vote GOP no matter what because (everyone say it with me) “The dems are worse”.

May Carter’s push for amnesty suffer the same fate as the movie named after him.

The official House ACORN caucus has been formed.

Good, now there is no doubt about who we need to remove from office.

He held a town hall just last night, according to Stand With Arizona.
