A group of activists connected with the Russian Orthodox Church are setting up a center against atheist extremism which, according to them, is promoted mainly by foreign-sponsored organizations.
The decision was announced this week at a meeting between city residents and deputies of a district council that was held near the pilgrimage center of the Moscow Patriarchate, in south-west Moscow.
“The atheist extremism is currently rearing its head. It is sponsored by various funds and NGOs with roots outside Russian borders,” reads the first statement released by the new movement.
The group claims that their enemies are opposing citizens’ lawful right for freedom of thought, conscience and religion, guaranteed by the Constitution.
In particular, the activists listed incidents when certain people protested against the construction of new churches, “creating an artificial psychosis and pumping up hysteria by intimidating the public”, quoting non-existent laws and declaring all public discussions unlawful.
The statement emphasized the fact that atheist extremists were often acting on behalf of local residents by creating grassroots groups, but the real masterminds preferred to remain in the dark.
The Moscow City authorities together with the Russian Orthodox Church are currently implementing the so called “Program-200” – a plan according to which 200 Orthodox churches must be erected throughout the capital in the next 10 to 15 years. Russian mass media estimated the overall budget of the program at about $1 billion and financing comes from a non-government fund. The authors of the program claimed that after it is implemented there will be a church for every 20,000 residents located 1 kilometer or less from residential areas.

Talk about role-reversal...The USA is nowadays more like the old USSR, and Russia today is becoming more and more like the America we grew up in! Russia is protecting traditional sexual mores and fending off atheist extremism, while we here in the former U.S.A. are becoming a communist hell of sodomy and official godlessness...sheesh
It occurs to me we have insane German philosophers to thank for both Nazism and Marxist Communism .
Soon these groups will fill with members across the world. All it takes is a leader/leaders with the balls to not back down. Then the overlords will need more employees and hard drives to keep up.
This will be a turning point. And Russia of all places is leading the way. I miss the old America.

I think not. Russia's opposition to homosexuality may be primarily due to the low birth rate, which atheism will not help, while Putin may have realized that since fighting religion did not work, now he will use it to achieve his agenda of power. And the religion he supports is not Christian faith in general, but the Russian Orthodox, which supports persecution of Protestant faith.
Still, it is a paradox that Russia is reproving America for upholding some Christian values America is at war against.
Just watch the freakout when traditionalists start creating these groups, communicating amongst themselves and adopting the ‘social’ tactics of the left. Working with like-minded anti homoization/anii atheist groups globally just like the “Idiots for Palestine” types.

Homosexuality was a stated part of the communist goals of I believe 1963 that were shown to congress. I don’t have the link handy but someone here will post it.
It was intended by the Soviets as a destruction from within tactic against the west.

The Germans have as many words for the various forms of envy as the Eskimos do for snow. It's been an envy hotspot for a long time. All that envy sparks "wealth redistribution" and war, which in turn drives the selection of higher IQ in the surviving population. Areas in and around Germany have produced some of the smartest people in the world. Brains enable exceptional evil as much as they do good.
