How about leaving the Catholic church altogether?

Christ is found outside it, believe it or not.

Hey, here’s the pope’s full interview - listen to what he’s actually saying, not someone else’s words about him.

Jesus went into the slums, that’s where he found Mathew. He didn’t say “you sinner of x, y, z!” rather he loved him and asked him to come, follow him. That’s what Francis is doing.

Jesus went into the slums,

This focus on the poor has been over-emphasized too much in the last century.

It has been to the near exclusion of all else, and has resulted in a Christian religion that no longer cares about eternal salvation and instead is focused on some vague do-gooderism.

My first reaction to this article was that it was not verifiable. A friend of a friend posted this because a friend he knew saw slum priests who behaved this way. I would have reacted differently if the report had names, faces, and places.

The behavior of the Pope though, is becoming quite fragrant. The false humility is meant to impress and to generate media warmth and headlines. I miss the red shoes.

He needs our prayer, any bishop elevated to that office has a lot of adjusting to do, it may take a long time for this liberal Jesuit to realize what he should be obsessing about.
