OK, it's a vanity. Deal.
I haven't heard this possibility brought up, but that might be because I haven't read every post. It's been a very busy week, and Obastard is doing his best to overflow the piss-off bucket. But, a thought dawned upon me yesterday when I was reading a story in IBD about the next big scary deadline coming up, the Debt-Limit that we're supposed to hit on 10/17.
I think Obastard is being a total pr**k about shutting down parks, landmarks and private property because he's building up cred for a threat he intends to pull next week. He's lost a lot of credibility with his threats recently because, at least on the foreign scene, he's been shown to be rather, uh, "toothless."
What's the big threat? We're all expecting it so I don't think I'm shocking anybody when I say he intends to deliberately default on our bond interest payments. It's well known that he doesn't have to do that, and any normal business would ensure the bond-holders get serviced first, but I think he's planning to stiff the folks holding the debt, and that's us. Yes, the Chinese will take it in the shorts, but I think the Fed holds the biggest chunk of the debt these days. At least, they're the only fools buying it lately, since the S&P downgrade.
He's infuriating everybody right now for the same reason a battleship bombards an enemy before an invasion: To "soften us up." He would rather create mayhem the likes we haven't seen in my lifetime than try to get spending under control. He wants to deliberately crash the economy, and this is his big chance, all the while blaming the Republicans, especially TEA Partiers. We're all Emmanuel Goldstein now.
I see a golden opportunity to put troops in the streets, and dissidents in jail.
I think he’s being a jerk precisely because he is a petty, vindictive jerk.
It’s surely a possibility. He has proven himself to be a very small man, smaller in stature than even Jimmy Carter.
I agree Cyber also have you notice how quiet Valarie has been throughout this ordeal. Something tells me she is the one pimping (or pumping) ideals into his head. we all know he is not that smart. This woman must be tried for treason.

The democrat voters trust government cause they see everything working . but they don't understand that private businesses are what are making things run. a private business like subway or toyota has to produce a good product . so they have to work and no one has to watch them. but government is a different story. voters aren't wacthing what the IRS goons or the UN goons are doing. and even if there is a smart and good person in government as in teacher that is trying to teach even they can't teach students how to read in the government schools because government/socailism can never work. look at freidman, Hayek and your commen sense to understand why .
He is a vindictive jerk and that is being kind. What he is doing here is simple, he is not going to let anyone P on his parade or dis him in anyway. It is the way of the obongo tribe. He got disrobed on international platform by Putin, aided by the US public so he is going to punish those he can. The biggest group in his sights is small business owners and individual proprietors who frankly hate him as a general rule. This is his moment and he is not going to let it go. Also, his buddy in the Senate gets to stick it to the tea party which tried to unseat the other POS in the Senate last election.
When the dust settles and his majesty is out of office, first thing the new hopefully right leaning president does is put a strike force group of attorneys in Nevada and indict and put in jail Reid.
One is to preserve his total control over Obamacare. The second is to damage the Republicans. If he could shift the blame onto the GOP House, then, yes, he would default on bond payments.
But that's not a given that the press and public would give Obama a complete pass on a default. Default is a very big deal, and Obama is by nature risk-adverse. So I don't think he'll take the chance. My prediction: no default.
This country has a history a couple of centuries long, so I always hesitate to suggest we're somewhere we've never been before, but if we default on the bond payments, or cut off SS to people, we will indeed be in uncharted territory.

But I believe you’re over-thinking it. He’s not going to do anything regarding default, although without a doubt Ms. Jarret aka the Lady behind the Curtain, is guiding his actions through this. And those actions are predicated on the theory (and polling) that shows they can make this shutdown as miserable as possible and the low-information People will blame the Republicans.
If the tables were turned, I’d like to think “we” would act differently. But, it’s politics...
Remember that President of China and King of Saudi Arabia he bowed to? They wouldn’t take too kindly to his global economy-busting narcissism and they could give rat’s exithole who he blames it on.

The Secretary of the Treasury can/should/will pay the interest on the debt without the Presidents authority. If the interest goes into default impeach the Treasury Secretary first, get his testimony on the Presidents involvement first. Then go after POTUS.
