Is it any wonder, when some politicians think that earning $8.50 per hour is worse than earning nothing at all?
In other words, the cost of advertising (outreach) which neither produces nor consumes food, is 2-1/2 times the TOTAL amount of the program in the year 2000?
Yeah.
What can go wrong?
Bingo.
Instead of 243%, it should be "only" 0.24%.
No problem.
Are food stamps cut when school starts? Should be!
A single adult on the dole ought to get by onless than $189 a month for food.
she is alread y pretty upset..from 39 buckeroos down to a tad under 37 a day...

I went to a local grocery store yesterday. When I entered a woman who had the 1000 yard stare of libtardism accosted me and handed me a list of things I could buy for “the food bank.”
When I came back out I handed her a 4 pack of Ivory soap.
“Thank you sir, but bars of soap weren’t on the list.”
“I know. Most of the people I have encountered who use the food bank smell like cigarettes and body odor. You might have to teach them how to use this, bless their hearts.”
As I walked away I looked back to see if she had picked her jaw up off the ground yet...
People are fatter than they have ever been.
What’s the problem? They won’t be able to buy as much potato chips as they used to?
Yeah wow...that’s quite a cliff!
OMG ! the HORROR !
No more crab cakes, etc ! !
Boo hoo. They may have to sell one of their Escalades for food money.
“Maybe they will have to eat at McDonalds.”
Maybe they’ll have to cook and eat at home like any sane person who is pinching pennies would do.
.
“For a family of four, the cut will be $36 per month, or about 20 meals under the Department of Agricultures estimate for the cost of a thrifty meal. Single adults will see their monthly benefits reduced to $189 per month, for a cut of $11.”
$189 a month works out to $6.20 a day. That is nearly double what my family spends per person per day. No wonder the EBT people are always getting the most expensive food at the store, they have more in food stamp money than those of us who actually work and pay taxes can afford.
Now Jones ain’t playin no possum; he’s a number one country man. Charlie run the devil outta Georgia and the South’s gonna rattle again.
We should pro-rate food stamps to reduce the portion given to children who also receive free meals at school.
I don’t want to be a grinch. Shouldn’t those on food stamps be weighed. If they are above the BMI...cut their freebies. This will also cut the diabetic rate and save money on medicaid. This everything-is-free crap is unsustainable.
I feed my family of 5, including 3 children, for about $450/m. It could be way less but I manage to feed my kids all organic, including meat.
The catch? I prepare everything myself from scratch.
And we haven’t been through a drive thru in about 5 years now.
What on earth is she BUYING for a THOUSAND DOLLARS a month????
