Shouldn’t Mittens be doing something productive (like buying another house), instead of proving why millions of conservative voters stayed home last year, and refused to cast a ballot for him?

I believe there has been a path to citizenship since this nations founding.
If there wasn’t we would have alot more empty space and the American Indians would be the largest voting block.

I notice he does not say for all the people who use legal means to gain entry in to this country and are waiting to come here, we as a country should just as well let them come on in to the country as well and be put at the front of the line ? Why reward the law breakers and yet we punish those who do it the right way ?

I don’t think those who come here illegally should jump to the front of the line or be given a special deal, be rewarded for coming her illegally, but I think they should have a chance just like anybody else to get in line and become a citizen if they’d like to do so.

It depends on what Romney said as to where the line begins--here or in their originating country. If he meant the latter, he is not supporting an amnesty or special treatment.

Did anyone ask Romney where the line begins? I looked at the videos and heard nothing about what line Romney is alluding to. His answer could just be more political parsing and not a change in the position he took during the 2012 campaign. The follow-up question should be, “Where does this line begin?”

Everybody else applies in their home country for an immigrant visa. Or they come to the US legally under a temporary visa and apply to change status for various reasons.

If they are here illegally, they should have NO path to citizenship even if they speak perfect English.

They do have a path to citizenship. It’s the same one 6 billion others on the planet have. Why should they get any better of an option? Because they are here? Completely illogical.

A very simple solution, get in the back of the line.
The front of the line is in your home country.

So is the back of the line.

I wondered about that. Whether the GOP Congress would scoff at RINO Romney when he asked them to pass amnesty. Hey Romney you promised not to do this BS when you ran and now you want congres to pass an amnesty?

Rand Paul is the next step where he says illegals can stay in the country and be treated in the same timeframe as someone applying in Mexico City.

The other part of it is the hispanic vote. If Romney had done better or worse if the GOP Congress would have been attracted to hispandering either way. McCain getting 31% helped. He doesnt have the natural tan Bush or Steve King have. Dole got 25, McCain got 31, Romney got 27 and Cooch got 29. If Steve King was the nominee he’d still get at least 25 because he’s a working man.

Christie won’t even openly support citizenship. He’s a tiny bit less liberal now than when Lou Dobbs called him out.

Bush had the better appeal being naturally tanned, from Texas and having got 35 and 39%. He was a big spender like Christie.

Steve King started a dialogue with Karl Rove at the start of 2004 and has been fighting him since.

It is funny how Ingraham as a woman, can get Boehner and other RINOs on to her show to talk amnesty even though she is more anti-amnesty than other radio hosts.

If Romney decided to write a candid memoir about the 2012 election, it would be about how he was held hostage by the Right for not being able to Etch-A-Sketch / Pivot to Middle.

RE :”If Romney decided to write a candid memoir about the 2012 election, it would be about how he was held hostage by the Right for not being able to Etch-A-Sketch / Pivot to Middle.”

Romney got the nomination winning the fantasy thon debates for making the biggest deception but a number of those RNC debates started to convinced me that Obama would win.

Like when they ALL said that they would turn down 9 dollars of spending cuts for one dollar of tax cut. Not one willing to stand out and tell the truth.

They all lined to to go on the record with that whopper a sign we were screwed.

This “path to citizenship” gripes me; there IS a path to citizenship for them now. Same path that has worked for many over the years and still is working for many. The path is not the trail they made sneaking in either.

Our politicians have convinced many stupid people that there is no way for Mexican citizens to come here legally to work and live, and no way they can become citizens. I don’t want to hear how hard it is to come here legally and become a citizen either; I think it should be hard so it will be something they appreciate instead of demanding their rights while holding their hand out for welfare.

PAcoal, sorry for my tardy response.

i have to confess, i don’t rely on numbers much when thinking about these decisions (not that i don’t spend some time agonizing over them).

if i can boil my process down in these matters, i tend to choose the man that i determine is the more amenable to God’s direction.

in my view, both of these men, in their own ways, are men of the world, very opposed to the qualities, experiences and actions that i admire in great leaders.

as to who is more amenable to direction from God? one could hardly point to any action taken by either one of them during the campaign and since that i would call godly.

i honestly can’t say for sure, but my gut tells me that He may be able control and influence a venal man like obama with less damage overall to us than an apparently self-righteous man like romney and his particular ilk of elitist, over-confident leftism.

we’ll never experience the damage romney might have inflicted on us, but we are certainly finding out the kind of damage obama is capable of right now. i can only have faith that God chose the path of less damage for us by putting many of us off romney.
