Murky backgrounds; will the real robert bateman please stand up. The photo from this article is the older nyg bateman (father?) w/different bio than what I understand the gungrabbing bateman to have:

According to the linked article, THIS Robert Bateman is not now, and never has been an officer of any kind in the United States Army.
