Senate Democrats are on the cusp of securing enough GOP votes to break a filibuster next week on the bipartisan budget, temporarily ending the fiscal crises that have dominated Washington for the past several years.
With 53 Democrats and two independents expected to back the measure, four Republicans John McCain of Arizona, Susan Collins of Maine, Jeff Flake of Arizona and Richard Burr of North Carolina said that they would vote to cut off debate on the budget, putting proponents just one vote shy of advancing the measure to final passage.
Several additional GOP senators signaled Friday that they may also vote to advance the deal, including Sens. Bob Corker of Tennessee, Lisa Murkowksi of Alaska and John Hoeven of North Dakota, giving proponents new confidence that a messy and acrimonious first session of the 113th Congress appears close to ending just before Christmas.
The Senate is poised to hold the critical procedural vote on the budget bill on Tuesday. And several GOP senators said while they may oppose the underlying bill, they would join with Democrats to advance the measure for a final up-or-down vote.
Im not OK with it, McCain said Friday, but I think its better than shutting down the government.
Added Collins: I will vote for cloture. Im still weighing [final passage] but Im inclined toward it
The advantages of having a budget outweigh the reservations that I have.

I’d laugh if it wasn’t so sad/
It would never be coming for a vote, if Reid didn’t already know it would pass.
Then we get to hear Obama talk and talk and talk...
And talk some more. Ugh.
Harry Reid’s democrat/moderate republican super majority!
We can remove McConnell, Cornyn, Enzi, Roberts, Collins, Cochran, Graham and Alexander.
And the 2008 democrat class: Begich, Hagan, Franken, Udall, Udall, Merkley, Warner and Shaheen.
And potentially, Landrieu, Pryor
And we can replace Rockefeller, Harkin, Levin, Johnson, Bauchus, Chambliss and Johannes.
From reading the entire story, it isn’t certain at this time if it will pass. I think it’s been put off until Tuesday to have time to massage “yes” votes from some of the weak sisters in the Senate.
Everyone (if you don’t know their position) should read to see if one of your senators is wavering and contact them. Even if you do know their position, write to give your view of this budget.

When these votes are “scored” to determine a Congresscritter’s degree of conservatism or liberalism, a vote for closure on such bills should be counted as a non-conservative vote.
These despicable RINOs are such disgusting creatures.
Just be careful when removing your RINOs you don’t replace them with Baraqqis like we did in Indiana. 6 years is a long time to suffer with a regime supporter.
McCain, McFlake, Collins, Princess Lisa and somebody else like Burr will vote for cloture. Done deal here.
I’m poised to be cynical and puke.
I cant wait until they pass it.
Fuzzy Bunnies , Unicorns..............blah!
“four Republicans John McCain of Arizona, Susan Collins of Maine, Jeff Flake of Arizona and Richard Burr of North Carolina said that they would vote to cut off debate on the budget”
McConnell, Grahamnesty, Alexander, and Cochran running scared?
Im not OK with it, McCain said Friday, but I think its better than shutting down the government.
McCain, you are a nut sack less piece of dung who
should be hung.
Nonsense. The crisis is not that there is argument and disagreement over the budget. The crisis is the astronomical level of debt, borrowing, out of control spending, and money printing that the Democrats support and refuse to stop.
“But Senate Republicans are still weighing the policy implications and the political backlash from the right for supporting the deal and they have the power to defeat it if they choose to unite against it. If they block the plan, it could make them culpable for any government shutdown that ensues in January as a result of the stalemate. But many Republicans in the Senate believe the plan is a bad deal that pushes off spending cuts without demanding more in return, agreeing with conservative activists who have come out against the proposal.”
Obama is going to have to find something else to fill his Quarterly Crisis spew ,but he would still have to sign it

McCain who is over the age of 62 won’t have COLAs for HIS military pension restricted at all. He is a Bozo as is his RINO (conservative poseur) fellow Arizona Senator Flake.
