A new Conservative Intel/Harper poll of likely voters in Michigan finds Gov. Rick Snyder, R, in a good early position to win re-election...

Has Ricky ever met a “Revenue Enhancement” he doesn’t like?
The people of Michigan simply need to look at Detroit to see where liberal politicians would take the entire state.
Big enough lead that he might have strong coattails for the rest of the ballot.

Yes, and they need to have Republican leadership at the state level to keep the Dems/progressives from trying to have the state, as a whole, take over Detroit’s liabilities. I’m not aware of current Dem efforts along these lines, but their “theoreticians” at the national level have beep promoting suburbs and higher levels assume city finances. I guess they view that as one possible way of DELAYING the day of reckoning of the Dem led cities which have “run out of other people’s money”.
OK, while I’m a Ted Cruz fan, please hear me out, FR:
1) While FR’s founder (Jim Robinson), Mark Levin, the Cato Institute, and even, to a degree, I, believe that Ted Cruz is eligible under the Constitution to run for President, either another legal ruling body or a certain percentage of the voting populace may feel differently.
2) Americans like to have Governors as Presidents. Lawmakers flap jaws, Governors get things done, and have shown to know how to work within the limits of the executive branch.
3) It is good to flip a Blue State, but you can’t flip a state overly Blue: the Blue forces within it will take out all the stops to keep the state from flipping.
4) Americans like a winner.
On the basis of those three points, Tom Snyder looks like he’s a good backup plan in case things with Ted Cruz don’t work out.
If you look at a) GOP Governors in b) states that have voted Democrat for President that c) have a nice chunk of electoral votes, Michigan looks very nice.
Furthermore, a solid Snyder re-election in 2014 - and he’s have to defeat Big Labor to do it - would be a great opening act for a run in 2016.
BUT - that’s about the extent of my knowledge on Tom Snyder. Are there any land mines in the path of him becoming a good conservative President?
Even more embarrassment: the formatting changed from the preview to the posting Let me try this one last time:

Oops ! I was just about to say that your previous post was tough to read and voila!——a much better one.
Thanks.

The Democrats have destroyed more cities than Godzilla
He’s have an even bigger lead if he refunded the surplus to the tax payers, then lowered taxes, and removed the tax on pensions.
* The Bridge Fiasco
* And going for Medicaid expansion instead of going for the Colbeck Concierge Service / HSA via one turn-coat Republican in the Senate ( my guess via Snyder's arm twisting ) Are a bridge to far for me to cross this November.
He is gonna have to win this one without me...
I don’t believe I will be pulling the lever for him either. He is not a conservative.
You named 2 things which you disagree with. You will never agree with a person 100% of the time and if you do you’re no better than a kool-aid drinking Obamabot. Snyder, along with the republican led legislature, has turned this state around in 4 short years. He had a proven track record business and now in government. Who else are you going to vote for?
Maybe not. I don't know -- I don't live in Michigan.
I do know that the change in state politics there is almost earthshaking. We should take a cue from the leftists and take incremental change when we can't get everything we want all at once.
Not sure why you felt compelled to b*tch about him in this context. Michigan, a right-to-work state? Whoever would have thought that a couple years ago?
Ricky was almost against it. He certainly wasn't promoting it.
Yeah, but he evidently signed it.
Look. I realize he's not Ted Cruz [and I'm not pimping him to run for president, either], but take progress where you can get it.
We certainly must get rid of RINO's [McConnell, Graham, et al] when there's a conservative challenger. But when trying to defeat incumbent leftists, we must wholeheartedly support RINO challengers to them if that's our only hope.
Incremental improvements when necessary. Snyder's a blessing when you consider Michigan's history. I only wish we had someone like him in New York.
I can certainly agree there. I'm not saying that he isn't better than his immediate predecessor, but he is a lot like W.
