Huckabee: Democrats think 'women can't control their libidos' [WH Spokesman is offended]

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) attacked Democrats for their "war on women" argument, saying it was their party who wasn't standing up for women.

"It's time Republicans no longer accept listening to the Democrats talk about a 'war on women,' " Huckabee said during a speech at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting in Washington. "Republicans don’t have a war on women; they have a war for women, to empower them to be something other than victims of their gender." Huckabee instead said it was Democrats who are insulting women.

"If Democrats want to insult the women of America by telling them they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing them for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of government, then so be it," he continued. "Let us take that discussion all across America because women are far more than the Democrats have claimed them to be."

Democrats immediately pounced on Huckabee's response as another example of GOP missteps in how they talk about women, especially after the 2012 election cycle, when Senate candidates Todd Akin in Missouri and Richard Mourdock in Indiana made comments on abortion that got them in trouble and led to the loss of winnable seats for the GOP.

White House press secretary Jay Carney said during Thursday's briefing the comments were "offensive to me and to women."

Carney told reporters he had not seen the comments before his daily press briefing, but when an excerpt was read out loud, the White House spokesman said they sounded offensive.

"Whoever said it sounds offensive to me and to women,'' Carney said.

Carney, you may as well be a woman because you're such a pussy!

Why is he offended? Democrats are the ones handing out free birth control and protest teaching abstinence to young women saying its not realistic cause they can’t control themselves as a reason

Why does this remind me of Clod Akin and him talkin' about rape? Even if there is some truth contained in this message, 1) Huckster is not the guy to say it and 2) there is no reason for this to occupy a moment of the 2014 RNC winter meeting agenda. Just damn.

Democrats don’t think anyone can do anything outside of their help.

Drivel?

Nonsense.

Huckabee is right here, and I'm surprised he has the guts to address this. The democrats have been running and winning with a strategy of painting Republicans as anti-woman. See the recent elections in Virginia for example. In fact, the democrats are anti woman; democrats try to keep women enslaved to government; democrats insist on subsidizing bastardy, dependency and poverty; democrats insist on killing babies. It's about time somebody had the guts to call them out on it. If you don't like Huckabee doing it, do it yourself. Don't try to just sweep it under the rug. The democrats are running with it front and center, and winning.
