I would prefer that Palin disassociate herself from McCain. Loyalty for loyalty’s sake is worthless when the person to whom you are loyal doesn’t share your values. I think she’s trying to follow the 80/20 rule, but McCain isn’t an 80% friend. So while she finds his dedication to national security an admirable trait and honors his POW status, she was far from “rallying to his defense,” in my opinion.
