Did Fuddy Have an Open-Casket Funeral? (Media caught in deception)

Maybe Catholics can weigh in. I have been in Catholic churches for baptisms, marriages, funerals. Never saw a baptismal font in the middle of the church, always in the back of church. That’s not to say that it’s not done; I’ve just never seen it myself. I do know that Cathedrals are seats of a bishop, as opposed to a parish church with a priest as pastor. It would be interesting to know what that priest thinks about “Deliana” practicing Subud.

Since your picture #1 corresponds so perfectly to your picture #4, I don’t see how you have an issue. Ms. Fuddy’s waist is probably about where the casket lid splits. So just visible to the left of that split are her folded arms. If you look in picture #1, you see the dress fabric peak just above her right wrist. Right about where you would expect a breast to be. And closest to us, in picture #1, is a turf of Ms. Fuddy’s hair sticking up. Now turn picture #1 on its side, and you have picture #4 with her folded arms, breast, and tuft of hair all where they are in picture #1.

There is no mystery. There is no urn.

There were two events covered here: Ms. Fuddy’s visitation, and Ms. Fuddy’s funeral. The funeral was right after the visitation. But my guess is that they moved some of the flowers out of the way before the funeral started. They may have considered them distracting. I don’t know. I’m not Catholic.

Every article I can find on Ms. Fuddy’s funeral refers to her body, not to her ashes. There’s absolutely no word about cremation. Nobody puts an urn in a casket. That’s just dumb. All of the people attending Ms. Fuddy’s funeral saw her body. The news reporters saw her body. The priest saw her body. Just because you can’t figure out a video does not make hundreds of people complicit in a conspiracy.

You don’t get it, CS. Photo #1 is of a different person. Somebody whose casket had a pall with white and gold ornamentation having crosses made of 4 round circles outlined in gold. That is not Fuddy’s casket. Are you claiming that Fuddy was in somebody else’s casket part of the time and in her own a different time?

Show me the contemporaneous quotes of the people saying they saw her body.

I said straight-out that people grieve at a funeral where there’s no body or a non-visible body just like they grieve at a funeral with the body present. My daughter had a closed casket. The people at Fuddy’s funeral didn’t have to know anything about how the media was going to mis-portray the event. What conspiracy would they have to be in on?

Weddings make me so happy. I always hope and pray that the joy of that day follows the couple for a lifetime even while it grows deeper and more pure. I’m an incurable romantic.

The casket and pall are identical in the two photos.

It’s amazing how embroidered cloth can change appearance based on the angle viewed, the ambient light, the camera lens and settings, etc.

The casket absolutely contained the body of Loretta Fuddy. Two television stations witnessed it, along with people who have known her for years. There is absolutely no reason for it to not contain her body. What purpose would be served???

Butter, you are wrong the KITV video close-up is without question Fuddy's body.

But first the red chairs (IIRC, called the Cardinal's Chair, where he sits when he is in attendance). Look at this image:

The red chairs are in the back, behind the altar. They would have been to the left and out of the frame of the KITV video. BTW - where the gifts are in this image is where the poinsettias are in the Fuddy funeral picture.

IMO, the reason that in this image the red chairs appear to be next to Governor Abercrombie is due to an effect called foreshortening.

Notice the woman in the purple muumuu with the black neckline standing to the extreme left greeting mourners? I believe this maybe Fuddy's sister. She appears in the KITV video at 2:03 mark as she approaches the casket with the family.

Stop the video at 2:03 and look to the left of her shoulder and above the casket. There is a two page memoriam from the Hawaii State Legislature. The page on the left says "The Hawaii State Legislature hereby presents this certificate to Loretta "Deliana" Fuddy, Director, State Department of Health in memoriam" followed by several paragraphs of tribute. The right hand page is three columns of state legislator signatures. The two page memoriam has a black matte and is in a brown wood frame. You can see an image of the memoriam on this KHON video at the 1:26 mark.

Now go to Butter's image #1 taken from the KITV video. Follow the pall's embroidery up and you can plainly see a faint three column white page with a black and brown border. This is the right hand page of the memoriam with the three columns of state legislator signatures.

Stop the KOHN video at the 0:30 mark and you can see the legislature's memoriam and the wreaths behind the line of mourners viewing the body. Then stop it at the 0:33 mark and the casket is closed and the sitting in the aisle. Now continue on to the 0:50 mark and watch as they close the casket and lift the edge of the pall where it has been folded over.

The problem (besides all the different camera angles) is that we may be seeing two different services for Fuddy. The viewing and family visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and the funeral mass which started at 11:00.

If the pall had a double-side embroidery, the dark side in the KITV close up might have been the underside.

Thanks, Gp, for pointing out that I got the wrong St. Theresa’s church. I was rushing b/c I was about to go offline for quite a while, and just picked up a youtube video about St. Theresa’s in HI. That’s no excuse, however; I should have double checked. Sorry.

However, as the person who didn’t even identify the right church for the funeral service, I’m opting out of the discussion. It only seems fair.

The red chairs also show up when the family is greeting people at the front of the church, and they show up in the full shot from the back of the church. They show up from a variety of angles and distances.

Image #1 is a photoshop; my updated pdf shows the evidence of that. And if the pall was folded the ornamental strip would look like it does in the KHON video. If the ornamental strip was sewn onto the pall there would be no way for the dark side to show. And give that there are two colors that fill the entire area I’d say it’s almost certain that this is a strip that is sewn onto the white fabric of the pall.

If the embellishment was made by directly embroidering all the color onto the fabric there would only be color on one side, if traditional ecclesiastical embroidery techniques were used. I made stoles for my husband using those techniques, as well as made a set of paraments for our last church. You don’t have the thread on the back side because it makes puckers if you do. And even if you did have the thread go all the way around to the other side of the fabric, you still wouldn’t end up with a dark side. A dark side would only happen if it was a woven piece using two different colors, like brocade, and was not sewn on top of the pall’s white fabric.

Madelyn Dunham was 86 years old and died from cancer. Autopsies are not normally performed under those circumstances, so to say she was “cremated before an autopsy could happen” is a bit of a stretch.

The extra width that Fuddy was packing was fat, not bone. When you lie on your back, your gut does not protrude straight in the air, deying gravity, it falls off to your sides and spreads out.

You’re the one making the outlandish claims, why don’t YOU go and do the research and interview the people at the funeral? Or is it just easier to make baseless speculations without following up on the simplest steps to either verify or dispel them?

No one puts an urn in a casket. It’s a crazy idea. There were hundreds of people in the church. At least one person would point out how ridiculous it would seem to have bought a casket to hold an urn.

I still don’t see the podium from which the priest spoke, but if there were two separate ceremonies, the one Abercrombie used may have been moved, covered with a cloth, and situated between the two candles.
