Hillary Clinton refused to allow her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to alter her 2008 Democratic Convention speech with his own "poetic flourishes," according to a new book on the former secretary of State.
The anecdote described in the soon-to-be-released "HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton" marks rare friction between the power couple amid the burgeoning debate over how the former president would influence his wife's candidacy if she were to seek the White House in 2016.
"While she had been on the mock stage at the convention center, Bill had delivered edits. He had ripped up the structure and added some of his own poetic flourishes," wrote authors Amie Parnes, of The Hill, and Jonathan Allen, of Bloomberg News. "But Hillary was having none of it. Bill and the set of advisors she had hired from his 1996 campaign had proved disastrous at developing her message and strategy for the campaign. She was the one in the hot seat now 'It's my speech,' she declared as she left to find [Bill]."
Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, Parnes and Allen highlighted Bill Clinton's widely regarded talents as a political campaigner. But they also warned that he's something of a wildcard, whose support hardly makes Hillary's ascension to the White House inevitable.
"They share the same goal, but they have different strategies of getting there. So I think that's going to be an interesting moment to see how this plays out," Parnes said. "If Bill Clinton can be the Bill Clinton that he was for Barack Obama in 2012, she's got it made. She can take it to the bank. She can take it all the way to the White House.
"But I think if he is the Bill Clinton from 2008," Parnes added, "that's a little bit of a precarious situation for her."
Allen echoed that message, saying Bill Clinton has been a master campaigner except when it comes to races involving Hillary.
"He's so good at political strategy for everyone, including himself But with her, there's a blind spot," Allen said. "You see this visceral reaction to what's going on with her and it's a problem for him."
Hillary Clinton has not said if she'll enter the contest, but public opinion polls put her far ahead of other Democrats thought to be eying the party's nomination.
In their book, Parnes and Allen delve into details of the campaign apparatus that's already springing up around Hillary, despite the absence of an official declaration that she'll run. Cheryl Mills, for instance, a top Hillary advisor, has been interviewing possible campaign staffers.
And Guy Cecil, current head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, has already met with Hillary about becoming her campaign manager.
"Cecil has already made up in his mind that if he's asked, he's going to do it," Allen told NBC.
With the cogs in full motion, Parnes and Allen say, Hillary is all but certain to jump into the race.
"She's like a ski jumper. She's headed down the hill. There's very little that's going to stop her from launching," Allen said. "So this is a campaign that is in full swing. It's more a question of whether she stops running than whether she starts running."
"HRC" is due in bookstores on Tuesday.
It must appeal to HRC die-hards and is intended to start the donations rolling in, and get the ground troops and get-out-the-vote apparatus structure assembled.
More on the tough ruthless Hillary:
The Hillary Papers Archive of 'closest friend' paints portrait of ruthless First Lady [except the ones they don't want you to see]
Book World: HRC, inside Clintons State Dept. and the political machine
Then there were the articles describing her massive organization that supporters have been building - Super PACS, etc.
But lets him cheat on her.
“Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, Parnes and Allen highlighted Bill Clinton’s widely regarded talents as a political campaigner. But they also warned that he’s something of a wildcard, whose support hardly makes Hillary’s ascension to the White House inevitable.”
Horse-stuff! An article in “The Hill”. An appearance on ABC by the scribes.
This is a storyline manufactured by Hillary to address the concerns of Dems who don’t want Bill anywhere near policy making during a Hillary presidency. The Dems who flipped from Hillary to Obama in 2008.
Hillary is the last type of person who should be holding power in the US. She lies with impunity. Has a ‘the ends justifies the means’ mentality. Does not readily show empathy. Believes in using political power to attack and quiet her political adversaries. Appears to have a huge narcissistic need to hold office (a very bad characteristic, in my view). And, doesn’t mind sacrificing people as long as she gets her way (e.g. the White House Travel Office etc.).
NOTE Hillary's 2007 campaign website was unearthed by America Rising. America's Rising found written on the website under "HILLARYCARE"---AKA Hillarys American Health Choices Plan---the phrase: if you have a plan you like, you keep it.
VIDEO of Hillary saying, "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan." Nice entertainment for union meetings.

See a smiling Hillary (above) in 2007, saying: You can keep the doctors you know and trust. You keep the insurance you have. If you have private insurance you like, nothing changes, you can keep that insurance.

A BUMPY ROAD AHEAD The 2016 Clinton camp has been distancing itself from Obamacare as the problems associated with the botched govt healthcare plan hits home to a not-amused American electorate.
With 2016 in mind, Bill Clinton called on Obama to "honor the commitment he made" that people should be able to keep their health care plans.
A top Clinton aide, John Podesta, then took to twitter suggesting a single-payer health care system as an alternative to Obamacare....just a coincidence that Podesta has just been hired by Obama.

Tevi Troy, Hudson Institute resident scholar's remarkable prophecy a year and a half before the USSC's decision, after Nov 2010 midterms, in which Democrats in Congress and in state legislatures suffered huge losses.....due to O/Care. In Commentary magazine, Troy wrote: "The Pyrrhic victory Democrats secured for themselves [when Obama signed ACA into law] may prove not to have been a victory at all but rather an ever-roiling, ongoing, and recurring act of political and ideological self-destruction."
Amen.
On February 21, 2007, in an interview with Maureen Dowd of the New York Times, Geffen described Hillary Rodham Clinton and Bill Clinton in unflattering terms: "Everybody in politics lies, but they do it with such ease, it's troubling."
He said that Hillary Clinton was "incredibly polarizing" and described Bill Clinton as "reckless" and cast doubt on those who say he has become a different person since leaving office.
They’ve shifted the narrative to “Hillary 2016.”
In-depth stories of Hillary 2008’s Enemies List.
If Chris Christie (not my cup of tea) is polling better than Hillary - take him out.
The "Hillary Papers" linked above tell how she wanted "single payer" in a conversation over dinner in the WH (during Hillarycare) "....On Feb. 23, 1993, (Diane) Blair joined the Clintons for a family dinner at the White House. The subject of health care reform came up. Quote:
At dinner, [Hillary] to [Bill] at length on the complexities of health carethinks managed competition a crock; single-payer necessary; maybe add to Medicare, Blair wrote.
The account is at odds with public statements by the former First Lady that she never supported the single-payer option.
In an interview with the New York Times as she ran for president in 2008, Hillary Clinton said she had never seriously considered adopting a single-payer system, in which the government, using funds appropriated from taxpayers, pays for all health care expenses.
You know, I have thought about this, as you might guess, for 15 years and I never seriously considered a single payer system, said Clinton in the interview.
At the time of Blairs account, the First Lady recently had been appointed to the presidents health care task force and had started her push for an insurance reform that hinged on the managed competition model.
However, at the February 1993 dinner, the First Lady already seemed to regret her decision to take on health care reform.
[Bills] tenderly hugging and thanking [Hillary] for sucking up to all thos egos nd taking all this shit [sic], wrote Blair. Shes signaling him what a mess health care is, bu also, sweetly, Dont worry [sic].
By the spring, the First Lady seemed deeply anxious about the effort.
[Hillary] adamant; [Bill] must devise new outside strategy; were getting killed. Congress a bunch of whiners; no courage. Her health care plan will save billions in long run but will cost big $ up front. [Members of Congress] dont work; only 3 days a week; only care for re-election, wrote Blair. [Bill] clearly not very happy w. his own crew and advisors. [Hillary] urging hard ball.
As the First Lady prepared to testify before Congress in September 1993, Blair wrote that shes begun to see that they dont really care about the issues but want to feel theyre part of the process. So shes slobbering over their craft as she testifies.
Hillary Clintons testimony is seen in retrospect as the high point of her failed health care campaign.
The week may have been the pinnacle of her career as First Lady, wrote Carl Bernstein in his 2008 book Woman in Charge. Hillary was making history, and there were comparisons on the floor of Congress to Martha Washington, Eleanor Roosevelt, and in one particularly tortured leap of logic, Abraham Lincoln........
MY THOUGHTS PRECISELY: Everything being released will APPEAL to the die-hard lefty base.
