Allegations of Russia are somewhat correct, but what if the games were in the U.S.(Polish)

AMERICAN sennik . A spectacular opening ceremony - despite the lack of a fifth Olympic rings - somewhat hushed defeatists , but in English-speaking media, there are still voices of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, a Byzantine scam at $ 50 billion , an emanation of Putin's superpower ambitions sick , shameful turning a blind eye to discrimination against gays and Russian lesbians , etc. All these allegations are somewhat correct, but their constant repetition - as well as the awareness that they seem a bit late - it must cause in many a human soul what Goethe called the eternal spirit of negation . - What if the Winter Games in 2014 held in Sochi not only , say, in Aspen , Colorado ? - Whispers that mischievous spirit . - What will be talking on duty today malcontents ?

If indeed fighting for the purity of the Olympic idea , it probably would say something like that ...

Why the Olympics are held in a country which for 12 years kept in custody 200 foreign nationals - without trial and without bringing them any specific complaints ? These reprobates are sitting in the U.S. Guantanamo base in Cuba , where he allegedly does not apply to the U.S. Constitution ... Can you imagine a greater mockery of the law?

For comparison - the girls from Pussy Riot , which erected wind allegations came from a Russian prison after less than two years.

Why the Olympics are taking place in the country where the harassing gays ! In nine states of the U.S. law prohibits sodomy , or anal intercourse - still often mentioned in one paragraph together with bestiality ! And in the next three states - Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas - sodomy is legal for heterosexual couples , but forbidden for homosexual couples !

For comparison - in Russia , although recently banned " gay propaganda ", but does not dictate to gay people what they can do in the bedroom.

Why the Olympics are taking place in the country , which still carries the death penalty ? In addition, the barbarous methods? Three weeks ago, a convict in the state of Ohio in agony for a long 25 minutes , giving banshee moans as he injected the poison poor .

For comparison - in Russia is not carried out executions since 1996.

Why the Olympics are held in the most restrictive country in the world , which plunged into prisons 2.5 million of its own citizens ? While Americans are 4 percent . the world's population , the American prisoners account for 25 percent . all prisoners in the world! Worse, as the Supreme Court has held , for example, in California, are kept in overcrowded cells in terms derogatory to human dignity ...

For comparison - the rate of incarceration in Russia , but also high , is much lower than in the U.S. .

Why the Olympics are held in a country that mass invigilates its own citizens ? And foreigners listening and watching you even brazenly ? German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff for many years were intercepted by the U.S. secret services . These two ladies are unlikely to come to Aspen.

For comparison - the Russian secret services , even if someone eavesdropping , can not be caught . Reveal your recordings only in rare and completely justified cases , such as when U.S. Secretary of State speaks on the phone " Fuck the EU ! " ( " Fuck the European Union " ) .

Why the Olympics are held in the most militarized country in the world , which seems to reinforcement almost the same as all the other countries combined !

For comparison - Russia spends on defense eight times less than the U.S..

Worse, the American public takes the example of his government and the armor on the power - in homes together about 300 million firearms, including rifles with magazines on dozens of bullets ! Right in Aspen permits to carry and placement of weapons in public places - like westerns . Under such conditions, do not be afraid for the safety of the athletes ? After all, Aspen is in the same condition in which a madman walked into the theater dressed as batman and began firing a rifle into the audience.

For comparison - the Russians have only 13 million weapons , and if you subtract kagiebistów guns , it's much less. Regular civilian can buy a gun only if he gets permission from the authorities .

And finally, why the Olympics are held in Aspen, which from 1 January can legally and without any restrictions to buy marijuana ? How can you expose young athletes to such temptations ? What is an example for young people around the world?

For comparison - the sale of marijuana in Sochi is strictly prohibited .

Oh yes, please state the Olympic Games in Aspen also provoked a lot of controversy ... Of course, the assumption that America and Russia treated the same, ie both countries judge coldly , without regard to their own sympathies or prejudices .

Well, but after all this is so , is not it ?

If the Olympics were held in the US a rainbow colored flag would be flown during the National Anthem and if there were any cheerleaders they would all be dragqueens dressed in hot pink.

Yadda yadda yadda...
We still have our Constitution, or what’s left of it.
I’d rather be an American than anything else on earth!

Hogwash. Been to North Korea lately? I heard they just feed them to the dogs. Been to a Muslim country or Mexico lately? They just cut their heads off.

in California, are kept in overcrowded cells in terms derogatory to human dignity ...

Hogwash. I was in California prisons for 25 years. California inmates are treated better than criminals any where in the world. Been to North Korea lately?

Why the Olympics are held in the most militarized country in the world

Hogwash. Been to North Korea and China lately?

Regular civilian can buy a gun only if he gets permission from the authorities

Therein lies the problem. Most of us independent minded Americans don't want the government telling us to do ANYTHING.

I am not sure if this is not your rant, I apologizeIf it is not. If it is, I have to ask what garden spot do you live in?

Not much of this really requires expert translation, it's rehashed Cold-War moral equivalency that has been done much better by much more intelligent people. It squirms under close scrutiny: are we really going to make the availability of anal intercourse our standard of human freedom? Really? That might be news to Washington or Gandhi or Mother Teresa. What is he telling us, that the apotheosis of western civilization is now to be measured in terms of buggery, thievery, corruption, and the unrestricted right of professional terrorists to murder women and children, all in the name of...well, of what? Enlightenment?

Methinks the author doth protest too much. There are, to be sure, demonstrated difficulties of lodging for the journalistic ranks in Sochi. Could that be better done within the glittering fleshpots of Aspen? You bet your sorry ass it could. So easily it calls into question the author's very sanity.

It grows tiresome, this endless anti-American drumming, whether it comes from the pen of a third-rate Polish journalist or a third-rate American one - there are very few second-rate ones and I can number the first-rate ones on one hand; or, for that matter, even a third-rate politician such as Barack Hussein 0bama. It's been done. It's over, guys. That was hot stuff five decades ago but it's time to find another song.

The author clearly regards the United States as an uncivilized nation, and is happy licking the boots of the nation who has repeatedly held his in bondage. I wish him the greatest happiness in that regard. His fellow Poles may have another view.

Regular [Russian] civilian can buy a gun only if he gets permission from the authorities.

The journalist somehow thinks that it's much different in CA. All sales through dealers, and 10 days of waiting time while the government checks you out.

Yep. First, it was 20 years of stress, controlling airplanes, then 25 years of stress, among the dregs of society. Now, I have gone Galt on their sorry asses. BTW, as a caveat, just because I wore a peace officer badge, does not mean I have anything in common with the jack booted thug street cops. I used to be a great supporter of the police, but now I think the 90% of the bad ones, give the 10% of the good ones a bad name.
