I was in Costa Rica in December and our hotel was filled with Venezuelans doing their annual Christmas shopping. I met a couple of guys and spent some time with them... a couple of dinners, and just chatting around the hotel bar/casino.

These guys, who were on the annual government-sponsored Christmas shopping trips (the government allows you in December to use your credit cards to buy Xmas goods... December only) were truly conflicted as to whether or not their government was good. It was interesting to talk about things, and to get their take on it all... they wanted to say it was a good life, but they told of so many bad things. It was pretty strange.
