Many folks don’t know that the once-credible American Bar Association has gone all-in with the institutional left. Even some lawyers don’t know. Even some lawyers who are ABA members don’t know!
But thanks to the Federalist Society, we are treated to the Bar Watch Bulletin that catalogs the ideological drift of the ABA. The latest issue is out, and is full of parody, bias and more than one reason for mainstream American lawyers to end their memberships with the ABA.
ABA President James Silkenat delivered a doozy of a speech at the mid-year ABA meeting. The Federalist Society always catalogs the ideological shenanigans at ABA events. Silkenat didn’t disappoint. In is speech he used the familiar left-wing tactic of making an ideological and partisan statement, and saying it wasn’t ideological and partisan. From the Federalist Society:
ABA President James Silkenat addressed voting rights and gun violence in his remarks to the ABA House of Delegates on Monday, February 10.
Silkenat warned the House, “Voting rights in the United States are clearly under attack. Whether you agree or disagree with the Citizens United and Shelby County decisions, it is easy to see how our democracy can be undercut by rules and regulatory practices aimed at limiting full and fair voter participation. This is not a partisan issue.”

The ABA went leftist a long time ago.
The ABA is just a club for lawyers. I have never been a member.
“The ABA went leftist a long time ago.”....as has the AMA. Conservative physicians don’t belong to that Big Government backer of ObamaCare.
So have most of the “medical” associations. All junk scientists now.
Yep, along with Chamber of Communists and some professional business organizations.
What doesn’t the left control these days?

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture—education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

Not much left for them to accomplish, I would say.
We have made it so easy for them. I bet they are surprised it took so little effort to achieve their goals.
They’ve (CPUSA) pretty much got all of it done; 90% of America doesn’t even know what’s happening, and when you point it out, they’re in denial. And I don’t mean the river... It’s going to be a VERY hard landing when SHTF comes.
Reminds me of a sinkhole. A giant hole will open up and swallow America, metaphorically-speaking, of course. And there will be no repairing it.

Well, I admit to feeling demoralized - more so every day.
States rights and secession will ensure part of the USA will emerge free. Not all 50 states are going to go lemming like over the socialist cliff. Especially in the South and mid-West.
4. Normalization - the final stage is where the populace finally acquiesces and begins to assimilate communism. This can take up to two decades to complete.

We’re at the point-of-no-return, I fear, if not just past it. I can’t believe all the damage done in 5yrs, and 3 more year of absolute hell, to go.

It is time for completely out of the box thinking. A convention of states with the goal of dissolving the union would be the first try, then secession if that doesn’t work. Then civil war if the socialist states want one, which I doubt.
I am a lawyer and I gave up my membership in that socialist organization many years ago. I never needed them but they need lawyers’ dues. Screw em.

The CPUSA used to get one of their own on the presidential ballots. In ‘08, they decided that the Democrat party was so close to them, it would be hard to distinguish the difference. So instead of spending money and effort, they endorsed Obama. Did so again in ‘12.
As for when the poop hits the prop, I believe they want this and are planning for it. “Never let a crisis go to waste”. Interesting though, when the SHTF, what will the lawyers have to do? They, like a lot of other ignorant people will get caught up in the mess that their politicians created for them.
