CPAC Immigration Debate Stacked 3-to-1 with Pro-Amnesty Panelists

Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), a former chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has apparently had enough of what he sees as the pro-amnesty mentality at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

In response to a panel which includes four proponents of comprehensive immigration reform and one critic, Smith ripped the American Conservative Union, which hosts CPAC, in a press release.

“You have to wonder when a self-described conservative organization stacks an immigration panel with amnesty advocates,” Smith accused. “For the second year in a row, CPAC has featured a panel where all but one speaker supports the agenda of liberal Democrats and the liberal national media. ‘Truth-in-advertising’ would require CPAC to drop the word ‘conservative.’”

Only 3-to-1? I would’ve expected 10-to-1 myself.

If the purpose of a Conservative is to Conserve, then what would a Conservative advocate being Conserved on the topic of Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico?

I’d have expected 20 to 1 and the advocates would all speak Spanish and have iron rods to beat the racist bigot!

Well FR has a couple factions intent on trashing Palin despite her conservative ideas and ensuring the very people (RINOS) who thwart Cruz every chance they get are kept in power because supposedly Dems are worse for doing the same thing.

Lots of stupid to go around.

Agreed.

Some “wrap themselves in the flag,” and think that the flag allows them to act and behave the way they wish.

RINOs have done this for DECADES and are offended if we ask them to adhere to Republican Core Values.

Lots of CPAC “young people” are planted there to “modernize” THEIR “conservative” movement into what THEY want Conservatives to be.

IOW, they have wrapped themselves in the flag of CPAC and have no idea of what being a Conservative who actually Conserves entails.

Your points are well taken. Be critical, but be specific.

Without specifics, discussion quickly becomes two emotional monologues instead of a reasoned dialogue.

Al Cardenas and Grover Norquist run things at the ACU. They are big amnesty supporters. My group stopped having a booth there two years ago when Cardenas took over. Cardenas is a big Jeb Bush supporter.

Libs have long used the Orwellian ‘redefine the language tactic’ to great effect. If everyone but you calls a dogs tail a leg, it becomes ‘common knowledge’ that a tail is a leg and you are mocked for saying it’s not.

Global warming consensus anyone?

The libs took over the GOP along with the Dems at the same time. They just needed to ease the rest of us into it with hopelessness. Thats why the GOP is now pro gay, pro illegal, pro spending and becoming anti military and pro abortion. We needed to be eased in.

There is a reason Issa refuses to do anything but dog and pony shows just as there is a reason FR has people that post all manner of anti conservative crap and attack all that THEY deem conservative. We too are being eased into compliance.

Just a quick example. Palin is pro christian, pro drilling, pro America, pro gun, anti abortion...all of which is traditional conservatism. So why do we see thread after thread filled with people using crap straight from the nightly news, SNL and John Stewart to mock her and disrupt threads?

Because they are not what they claim to be.

Another: Why do people claim to support Ted Cruz and attack anyone fighting the people screwing him around? Why do they insist on sending his opponents more troops?

Because they are not what they say they are.

When a man beats his wife in a filled football stadium and denies he did it, 90000 people know he’s lying.

When the above happens on FR and other sites, those people are lying as well. And likewise, the proof is in their actions.

Pubbies just don't want to get elected I guess.

Do those things and illegal aliens will deport themselves and pay for the trip.

Did Rubio or any speaker mention immigration?

They generally don’t do it because of the boos.
